Since I travel a lot and stay at many Novotel's properties in Indonesia and South East Asia, Novotel Jogja seems the very old property. The location is good and easy to access to the Famous Malioboro Street, you can take becak (three wheel rickshaw) or easy to order online transportation moda. The room is very old and the bed mattress seems should be replaced new, the pillow also to thin. Breakfast was nice but the there was no service from the staffs. The good thing, my check in process was fast and upgraded to executive room.

Clean, kind, super fun! Close to mall, Starbucks and local grocery store.
Messages, gym, pool (smack-dab in lobby area), shops and oooooooh my God I almost forgot to mention the FOOD excellent especially the traditional dishes and drinks. Please take your time and try new delights. The Area suffered blackouts so always travel with small flashlight. The mall & Starbuck (remember local coffee is divine) is less than 5 minutes to your left which host local vendors within the mall. You'll easily be able to pick up real Batik and fake at same location and based on my experience ALL the shopkeepers where honest.

Room Tip: I faced the pool area and could hear swimmers but wasn't bothered by it.

STD rooms were comfortable; pool was lovely; breakfast had a huge choice. Large spacious communal spaces was good as we were part of a group.
Staff were extremely helpful and very kind. My daughter was very unwell and receptionist went above and beyond getting us help and supporting us. The next day they sent a card and bowl of fruit to her. We were so grateful for their kindness.

This is the first time we stayed for four days at the novotel yogyakarta. The hotel is very close to Galeria mall, just around 15 minutes to tugu station. Nice location to stay.
The staff are fabulous,very helpful and friendly. The room was always cleaned everyday.
Breakfast buffet was combination between western and Javanese traditional cuisine.
A great novotel Yogyakarta in a great city.

Had some some noise due to construction in the room besides and it took my 2 times with the reception staff to solve it. Not good, if with kids that need to sleep. However, they apologized with a piece of chocolate cake.

Water pressure in the shower is good, breakfast good as always in Novotel. Strange electrical circuit. If you switch the light in the room with the master switch off, then you cannot switch on only the light in the bathroom at night while family is sleeping. You need to switch on the masterswitch with all the light. :-(

Location is good. Just 150m to the left there is the Galeria Mall and on the roof-top there is a nice restaurant called Chanting). Great food, but the lift a bit hidden to go up.

Novotel offers car rental with driver for 8 hours for 935,000 IDR ++. That is good enough. To Borobodur it took us about 1 hour.

We had a room with view to the Volcano (Merapi).

The mosque was a bit loud in the early morning, but nothing to do from the hotel side.
