I took my team down here from Manila for the weekend and it was just amazing. We had both the Villa and the Boathouse.
The facilities were fantastic and Ghie and her staff impressed us with their cooking skills after my team forwarded a rather imposing menu. The staff were just fabulous and went out of their way to help us out, even making an evening run to the grocery store to replenish our drinks.
There was a kayak and a Mirror Dinghy available and my team had a fabulous time in the bay. The staff took us snorkeling in the area which I have to recommend, the coral and life in this bay is just amazing.
We also used the Yachts and the experienced boatmen who helped us out did a wonderful job.
We will definitely be back next year looking for a repeat experience!
PS. I saw in some of the other reviews people were put off by the rural feel of Puerto Galera in general. This is a real pity because it really is an amazing place with so much character. If you want a 5-star resort with air conditioning to wine and dine at then probably rather look elsewhere, if you enjoy the rural charm of an island village then this place will just be an amazing experience.
Greetings from THE BIG APPLE!
I apologize for the late review about your " little paradise on earth". I wanted to spend every minute of my time enjoying the place. The Puerto Galera Villas are much more than I expected! The place is elegant and and breathtakingly beautiful during the day, romantic and magical at night!
There are no words enough to express our THANKS to you and most to the staff who were very attentive to all of us ( 22 adults, 2 children and a two year old baby ). They treated us like royalty, with respect and most of all, with care, which to me ( and my family ) was priceless.
Bernard's birthday celebration was beyond what I expected. Bernard said " I had celebrated 72 birthdays but this 73rd celebration I will never forget." He said I picked the perfect place. My special immeasurable thanks to BETH for making it possible. The food were more delicious compared to most FILIPINO restaurants we'd been to ( MAx's, Sofitel, El Presidente, Hotel H2O, etc and even here in New York ). Thank you again for introducing me to Beth...she's a gem!
Thank you again Suzie. We had a great time which will never be forgotten. I wish we were able to meet you and Allan personally.
Thank you again to CHAT, GHIE and the gang. Kudos and bear hugs to all of you! We miss you all!

This is a jewel of a place. We didn't want to leave! We were a party of 10 and the place was perfect. The rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed home cooking, incredible views, lush landscaping, butterflies and a monkey! We hired a boatman, Andy ( staff has his name and number ), for 1200 pesos per day. He took us beach hopping. Our favorite beach was Long Beach where we went snorkeling. We thought it was the best sight. We even saw a sea turtle. The corals were more vibrant in color and the fishes had more diversity. He offered to tow us while snorkeling. Really, this was a lazy way but we covered more areas. The house staff were gracious and efficient, catered to our
every need. Ocean Villa is our new favorite place and we will be back next year. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful vacation home.
Tips: Plan your meals and bring the seasonings you will need. Bring your own snorkeling gear and beach shoes. The house provides life vest. Bring a mosquito repellent only to use at dusk.
Four of us stayed in the smaller house last weekend. The owner arranged for our travel from Manila which was great and made it so easy. We arrived by boat Friday evening and were greeted by the friendly staff. We had arranged for the staff to make us dinner which was helpful as there was nowhere close by to eat.
Don't confuse the two different houses. The house on the waters edge is the older, smaller house. It is only really large enough for one family or two couples (as in our party). The view from the bedroom upstairs is amazing with six huge glass doors that all open up onto a small deck. The shared outside lounge area is nice, comfortable enough for four people. there is also an indoor lounge that we didn't use.
Ok so it was nice to have someone cook and shop for us and the location was wonderful. The staff were nice and when asked for an extra towel I got it.
Here is what was not so good. The only way to cool down was fans, no air-con. There was no pool to jump into so we just melted in the heat....the waters edge was full of debris and seaweed.
The house looked dated and needed a good clean. The mosquito net above the bed needs replacing, We couldn't use the window blinds so it felt like sleeping in a goldfish bowl. The shower was terrible, and we're not sure why there was a big bin of water in the shower .... is it for when the toilet gets blocked (?) The floors all needed a good sweep and everything in the indoor lounge was dusty.
The house has so much potential and when it was built it was probably amazing but it feels like it has been somewhat neglected. With some updating, new furnishings and a clean...oh and even some air-conditioning in the bedrooms the house would be a more comfortable place to stay.

We stayed 1 week in Ocean Villa during August 2016.
There are no words to describe the Villa. It's simply wonderfull! The view is amazing, you can have an incedible snorkeling at 5 minutes of boat from the Villa, the food is great... It's the best place if you need a relaxing time.
And the staff... is amazing!
Thanks to Suzie, Chat and all the others, you are really great!
