We took the free shuttle from VIVO to Sofitel for one of our visits to Sentosa. We chose to eat at The Garden, which is located at the Spa, 4 min away by buggy or the shuttle from the main hotel, depending on timing.
This is semi fine dining, the service being very good, but casual. Some may find the high ceiling dining area, with lots of large windows, a bit warm, but I think just right-- the food will not get cold.
WE had:
- garden salad- very good
- wanton soup (ordered just to try)- skip this one. Though tasted ok, it seemed very alien to the venue. Was also surprising, almost comical, to be served a very small portion in an over-sized bowl.
- seared scallops-- very good. High quality, scallops that taste like scallops, and not over cooked.
- seared sea bass-- very good. Cooked just right, taste and texture more like cod fish.
- Piella rice- good tasting, thick and rich.
- desert -- skip this also, we tried 3 types, not all that good. One had a good scoop of vanilla ice cream, so get the ice cream if you really want desert.
If you are an Accor member it is well worth it. But even if not go try the dishes mentioned from the open kitchen. Hope they keep up the standard.
Worth a visit!
