We went to Tanjong on a Saturday and the beach was packed with volleyball players, pets and many many more. It is a the last beach on the route however its beautiful and the water is clean and many people out there. Definitely gonna visit this place in December again.

A few bars, with a few sun-beds, nice sand and the red flag meaning you cannot swimm, unfortunately.

I have preferred the Palawan beach!

If beach is your thing with sand and sun, this is a good bet. I was surprised not even locals know about this one. You will see loads of big container ships and yatches in the water, which is kind of amazing. The beach is relatively small and has beachball facilities (which, I guess are owned by the Beach club nearby).

This always a nice getaway place in Singapore, popular with locals and visitors. It is typically not overcrowded unlike some other beaches, which makes it peaceful. Dogs are welcome here, just be mindful of other dogs/humans and keep them on a leash. The sand is fine and feels great to step barefoot. The beach is mostly clean although in a recent visit there was more rubbish washed onshore than usual. Triathletes often train here due to the calmer waters that are sheltered from big currents. And if you want to kick back for a drink, there is always Tanjong Beach Club.

Look, Singapore is known for its hustle and bustle, and thats so much part of its appeal. However, mix it up a little and stay on the far side of Sentosa (there are several really great hotels) and enjoy space far away from the madding crowd. Wander over the sand, paddle your feet, check out the ships in one of the busiest harbours in the world.... and experience something a bit different from the usual Singapore holiday.
