Stayed for 2 nights. We encountered 4 staff in total during our stay and they were all courteous and helpful. Really appreciated them greeting us whenever we passed by the reception. We booked a room with windows and got a room at level 6 facing the road. The room is definitely small and the layout a bit weird but it is nothing major. The room and furniture were clean although I found some yellowish stains on the comforter. Could not sleep well on the first night since I am not used to the spring bed. But I was able to have a good 6-7 hours of sleep on my second night after a tiring day at Macritchie. Like other reviewers pointed out, there is no segregation of dry and wet areas in the bathroom. Once you shower, everything will turn wet. There is also no hooks in the shower for you to hang your clothes, but don't bother since your clothes are highly likely to get wet. The good thing is, the toilet dries really quick.
Overall, this is a no frills budget hotel. The price is really reasonable, the location is good with a bus stop and food all around. I am happy with my stay. If I were to do a staycation at balestier again, I definitely would like to be back!More
