Beds and Dreams Inn @ ChinaTown
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 23 December 2012

This hostel is centrally located in the heart of Chinatown, and is only about 200 metres away from the Exit A of Chinatown MRT station. Getting around Singapore from this location is a breeze due to the hostel's close proximity with the MRT station. The hostel is very suitable for travelers traveling in a group as the hostel has different room configurations to suit the different needs.

The staff of the hostel were very helpful and friendly. Checking in was very smooth, and it was completed within a few minutes.

The stay at the hostel comes with a simple all day free breakfast. Each of the rooms are named after the different dialects of the Singapore community - Hokkien, Hakka, Teochew, etc. The beds and the room were very clean. Each of the beds are provided with personal reading lamp and a power outlet/socket. Shoe racks/storage boxes and lockers are also provided for each of the rooms. Free wifi is available through the hostel, and the wifi strength is excellent. In case you did not bring your laptop/tablets, there are 3 Mac computers at the reception area for use of the guests.

The bathrooms and toilets are rather small. But if you will notice, two of the bathrooms at the back are slightly bigger than the rest, so go for the bigger ones. Shower gel/shampoo are provided free of charge. However, you will have to bring you own towels, toothbrush and toothpaste.

We stayed at this hostel for a total of 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a home away from home experience for us. You'll get to enjoy a 5-star value-for-money experience difficult to be found elsewhere. Do give it a try when you're in Singapore.

I have been there just for one night so I couldn't take advantage of Xbox ps3 and wii :). Very clean and safe. The rooms are small as the toilets and showers. The breakfast is very very simple, but the location is fantastic.

I really enjoyed my stay here! Small, trendy and modern.. Staff were really nice and helpful. Mac's for use in the reception area, a nice touch! The common room had a tv with hard drive and loads of films, Nintendo wii with guitar hero and cosy bean bags.

The dorms were clean and comfortable and the beds were really comfy - I slept well there. Showers were tiny though - changing in them was interesting!

Location was brilliant. 2 minute walk away from Chinatown MRT station.

This was a little bit more than some of the hostels but worth it for the location and it was really comfortable. 5 stars from me!

Funky, clean hostel in amongst a popular tourist/eating/shopping area of Singapore. But I didn't enjoy my stay as much as the original ruck sack in hong kong street. It lacks a larger common room but people tend to meet out the front picnic table & a lack of places to hang clothes, even to air a towel. You do have to bring your own towel, the ones to purchase are made of a material only suitable for 5 dries & small. Because of the layout of this older but renovated building the lockers are away from your room & the toilet is away from the showers. The showers are powerful but expect to find changing in them difficult, there are no change rooms away from the combination of water everywhere & increasing humidity. In all, still a good choice & you can see thought has been put into the layout & conveniences but it hasn't quite hit the mark. Note that there are other locations available though.

- Bathroom and bed very clean, change bed sheet everyday
- Clarke quay is 15 minutes by foot.
