To go short: great location near metro, harbor and Chinatown, good vibe-hostel, great and helpful staff, very clean toilet and shower, free wifi, cool water and breakfast. Would recommend it anyday!

I some what apprehensively booked into the Rucksack for a one night stay (having not stayed in a hostel for twenty odd years). I was taking part in a night marathon and just needed a bed to crash in for a few hours. I explained this via email to staff who responded within the hour saying that it was not a problem and a bed would be available.
I arrived at the hostel – a liberal stones throw from Clarkes Key - and was greeted with service and courtesy that I have not seen in hotels charging x 8 the cost. The atmosphere in the hostel was genial – free internet and a good selection of books in the library.
Sleeping in a mixed dorm bunk room might not be for all forty somethings, but do not discount this hostel on its rates – I paid very little and was suspicious of what I might experience.
A great place to crash over in Singapore – friendly, informative staff, accommodation very clean.

Very clean, friendly service, continuous hot showers, tea/coffee, wifi... great place to rest, central to anywhere in Singapore that you want to go. Cheap places to eat at Clarke Quay, Chinatown 5 min walk away... why stay anywhere else?

This was a great place to meet interesting people and make new friends!
Also, a great place to stay if you wish to frequent the Clark Quay clubs and bars, which are so close you'll be able to find your way home no matter how tipsy you are!
Just across the road from MRT, this is very convenient for going other places in Singapore (and also to/from airport).
2 mins walk away is BK Eating House, which sells cheap beer, and good mee siam.
Bunks are a little small, so if you're very tall i hope you're also not also very pedantic.
The place is incredibly clean! Great internet, free toast with spread, many options for leisure!
