We stayed at The Quincy for 3 nights and what a great hotel! Check in was a breeze. Ruben at the desk was very helpful and accomodated us even upon an early arrival. He also went out of his way to direct us to some interesting spots in the city as well as his favorite Dim Sum restuarant in Chinatown. We had a room on the 13th floor, and the wall-size window gave us an awesome view. The room was very comfortable with every amenity. The all-inclusive price is also a great deal. The lunch and dinner menues gave enough variety and the food was quite tasty. Walk to Orchard Road took 5 minutes, and location is accesible to metro, buses, hop-on/hop-off bus etc. There were always taxis outside on the street as well.

The Quincy Hotel, Singapore was an amazing experience and a must stay when visiting Singapore. We were picked up in a Limousine at Changi Airport, greeted on arrival and offered an upgrade of our room. All the staff were extremely polite and nothing was too much of a hassle when asked. In particular, a waiter by the name of Adam, was 'simply the best'. From breakfast through until dinner he bent over backwards at any request we had. The buffet breakfast, set menu for lunch and dinner were first class, along with complimentary drinks between 6pm and 8pm. Only a short 5 minute walk from Orchard Road, the Quincy Hotel is well worth everything it has to offer, molton brown toiletries, free mini bar restocked daily, pool on the 12th floor, gym, free wi-fi, 2 items of laundry per room per day, all inclusive. What else could guests want!

We booked this hotel on the strength of TA awards and reviews and we were not disappointed. Originally built for business users but now much more general tourists using the hotel. The rooms make excellent use of the space (book a corner room for more space). The all inclusive rate include buffet breakfast and waiter served lunch and dinner. Between 6 and 8 pm drinks are free but there is no dedicated bar. The pool on the 12th floor is something to behold. Service, food and all round dedication to making the customer experience were excellent. A great choice for a trendy Singapore break.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have more space.

Our rating for Qunicy is based on the special deal @ $367 (incl tax) per night that we paid for our 2 day weekend staycation (total S$734.44 incl tax).
For us, the rate offered was a good deal as our purpose was not to sightsee but to hve a quiet retreat and rest (we are locals). Thus this all inclusive at this rate worked for us since we were happy to dine in for all our meals (which we enjoyed). Based on our experience however, higher rates than what we paid does not justify and we will return only if they continue to offer similar rates to what we paid for this stay.
It was a Last Minute Hot deal with “all inclusive” meals, beverages etc. If these inclusive perks are not relevant, then some guests may prefer a bigger luxurious hotel that charges less without the all inclusive package. If the room is what you are going for, then I honestly would recommend a bigger hotel that’s more spacious.

We were initially debating whether to return to Hotel Inercontinental Four Seasons at Cuscaden Rd (enjoyed our stay there on two previous occasions) or to try Quincy for our 2 night weekend stay-cation on Feb 25 & 26 2012.
Our stay at Quincy was a very relaxing and restful one, exactly what we were hoping for. I definitely wouldnt associate Quincy with the word "luxurious". Instead its more like "small modern, chic, fairly trendy upmarket apartment style hotel set amidst quiet surroundings
Reception:
Check in and check out was smooth and efficient and we were able to have the room at 1pm.
Quincy's staff - efficient in a business-like rather than "friendly and warm" manner. This where they fall a little short compared to the very friendly atmosphere of some big hotels or boutique resorts we have stayed in. Its always nice to be greeted with genuine friendly & warm faces when staff see their guests. This is where their service can improve. To go beyond their business-like welcome and exude more warmth.

Room:
The Studio king bed room has a simple modern trendy design. Nice comfortable interior which is suitable for those who arent looking for fabrics or a carpeted feel,. Wise use of mirrors and see through glass from bedrm to bathroom for a sense of space.

No complaints about cleanliness at all. Our aircon was also working well.

However, the size of the room is just nice for a single person or couple who's small or medium built. Larger sized guests may find this room a tad small. Personally, my opinion is that guests with families esp children or big suitcases may prefer to opt for the larger hotels with bigger lobbies and rooms.

Lots of power sockets near the large LCD TV. Great for charging all our gadgets. There was also an iPod dock.
There is an additional socket in the closet for the hair dryer. The Closet has bedrm slippers (but may be small for those size 7 & above). There is a safe in the small closet.

MINIBAR - The term "minibar" can be easily misunderstood by guests when they are looking at the all inclusive stay. If we had not been forewarned by reviewers, it would have been natural for us to interpret “minibar” as the normal items one would find in most hotels. The free replenishments for the minifridge rather than minibar, is restricted to softdrinks, water and 2 cans of beer. Perhaps the website should be more specific about this so as to minimize disappointment & expectations.
BATHROOM: Nice, clean & modern. Good water pressure.
Contrary to some guests who felt uncomfortable with the see through design of the bath/shower & bedroom, we were fine with it. Liked the idea as it gave the room a more spacious look. Nice wide wash basin and toiletries.
As for the shower area, a large built person with a big paunch may found it quite a bit of a squeeze coming out of the shower. That person may have to step into the bath tub to get out of the shower area.

FREE WIFI: Very fast. Just had to sign in the network with our Rm number & surname. When logging in, it says "charge to room" but once submitted, the charge is $0.00 provided your room rate includes free access.

The small 24hr GYM-machines looked new and well maintained. Good view from the 12th floor when exercising or swimming. Popcorn and chips, soft drinks are available during movie nights on weekends.

MEALS:
The cafe is nice & pleasant enough for a casual dining ambience. We enjoyed our meals at a leisurely pace & liked the pleasant green view from the full length windows.
Perhaps if the designers had chosen an off-white gloss ceramic tiled flooring (easy cleaning) instead of the present muddy grey ones, it would have added a touch of class to the place.

BREAKFAST 7am-10am: The breakfast spread was adequate as it had the essentials. More imp was the quality didnt disappoint. The prata was good (sat). Both days there was congee, Hash brown (nice! Crispy, not soggy), sausages and bacon also not too salty. Enjoyed the thin slices of cheese. You can request for fresh egg dishes. Juices, expresso, latte or cappuccino is available.
LUNCH - Set Lunch 11.30am-2.30pm: There are about 10 choices for the main dish in the set lunch menu (see pic) . There was a change of selection for some of the main course lunch & dinner selection daily.
Enjoyed the Char Kway teow (No MSG & less oil).
The Yong Chow Fried rice & Spaghetti Bolognese - satisfactory, nothing special.
Dessert Pulot Hitam was good.
Green bean soup - rather diluted. But liked the fact that it wasnt overly sweet.
In addition, we could help ourselves to the counter selection of various juices, soft drinks, beverages, soft ice cream and dessert of the day.
The beverage counter has good quality coffee - normal, expresso or cappuccino & tea selections (peppermint, jasmine, earl grey, eng breakfast). Even takeaway cups are available.
Note: Bear in mind the extra charge for friends who are not hotel guests, joining you for meals. $22++ for breakfast, $28++ for lunch & $38++ for dinner (not sure if it includes the free beverages/juices)
EVENING FREE DRINKS 6pm-8pm
Rather Limited choices: whiskey, gin, vodka, brandy & wine. You can enjoy the free drinks and hve dinner at the same time between 6pm-8pm. A choice of cocktail or mocktail for the ladies would have been great.

DINNER:
Special thanks to Richard De Costa for his great attentive service.
The Aglio Olio spaghetti with prawns was superb. The sirloin steak which had mixed reviews on Tripadvisor was actually was not as tough as some made it out to be. Unsure if those guests were being extra fussy or perhaps the chef improved on it after complaints by past reviewers. In any case, ours was quite nicely done. It was pretty tender for a sirloin (obviously shouldn’t be compared to tenderloin & don’t expect a thick slab of meat like Sizzler’s.) It came with a tasty black peppercorn sauce, very yummy fresh potato wedges and broccoli, carrots.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Tiramisu dessert on Sat night. Not so the apple strudel (pastry was a little hard) on Sun.

LAUNDRY: The website gives the impression that it's 2 pieces per day. That is a little misleading as it doesn't apply if you are only staying for a night. That is because the 2 pieces must be handed in BEFORE 11am for it to be returned same day 6pm. Not accumulative if you dont do so on that day.

I can understand why some reviewers would get upset if they stayed for only one night, expecting to get their 2 pcs of laundry done only to realise its not possible. A guest staying for a night may think he can get his shirt pressed or drycleaned in time for a dinner engagement. Thus, this free laundry is NOT applicable if you are only staying for 1 night (since check in is obviously after 11am).

Also do remember to bring the laundry bag down to the front desk. Dont expect housekeeping to collect it when they make up your room.

Suggestions to The Management:
Quincy's website should make this 2 pcs free laundry conditions clearer to avoid misunderstanding. If there are conditions to those inclusive offers, it should be clearly stated on the website. This saves both the guests and the hotel staff a headache esp if they arrive hoping to have their clothes pressed or laundered in time for their dinner appointment.

Limo pickup from airport:
If this is already factored into the rate, then locals should have an option to have a limo pickup from our residence. We were told it was only from the airport. Or the hotel should give locals a box of chocolates (or alternative) as a gesture for not being to use the limo pickup. Its these little thoughts that go a long way. No point having an all inclusive if it can't be used.

Free drinks inclusive 6pm-8pm:
Please consider adding a choice of some cocktails and mocktails. With the exception of wine, the current limited choices Vodka, gin, beer, whiskey, brandy is rather heavy going for some. Perhaps a choice of 2 cocktails (eg. Screwdriver/Marguerita or mocktails (eg. Shirley Temple) for the ladies.

We hope management will consider some of the suggestions for further improvements.

A big thanks to fellow Tripadvisors for their reviews and also to Quincy for a comfortable stay.
