Owner description: The walks work on a simple principle: to bring people into places most other tours don't. Graveyards, smoke houses, wet markets, gun batteries, the city’s best-kept secret places. You name it, we have it. Since 2003, the Walks led by an eclectic bunch of researcher-guides have taken locals and travellers alike off the beaten track, and entertained with an endless store of anecdotes that reveal the true heart of the city. Pre-booking not necessary!

“What a wonderful insight into Singapore's colonial origins”

We went on the three hour walking tour covering the role of the Empire in forming the city/country and how it developed.
There were only five of us so the guide had no difficulty talking to us and giving us the benefit of her extensive knowledge of and love for her country.
We visited St Andrew's Church, went inside the new Supreme Court, and finished up with a stroll through the grounds of Raffles Hotel.
This was a most enjoyable outing for our last day in Singapore.

“Red Clogs Down the Five foot way. Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2017

Geraldine was fantastic guiding us through China town. We were taken inside the temples and markets, we explored the architecture and history and visited herbal medicine shops. She brought it to life with personal stories and the time flew by. My mother in law who is in her late 60s also loved it and there was never too much walking or too much standing in the sun.

“"Of Graves, Guns & Battles"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2017

We did this tour of Fort Canning on 23 Feb as a dept staff outing. Sharul was our guide and he was fantastic - approachable, helpful and funny! Our staff have feedback after the tour that they enjoyed the walk and found the "history lesson" very informative and eye-opening. The exhibits in the Battlebox Museum were also very well-made and presented.

We hope to be able to do the other tours in future :o)

“Chinatown and Little India walks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2017

Was recently in Singapore and took both the Chinatown and Little India walks. They were both great historical views of the different cultures that make up Singapore. A highlight was the Hindu temple, which was just completely unusual. Both tour guides were very knowledgable. My Chinatown guide actually grew up in historical Chinatown during the times she was discussing. That made it even more authentic.

These tours (I've also done the Kampong Glam tour) are a great way to spend a half day in Singapore. I would definitely recommend them!

“Fantastic tour of WWII”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2017 via mobile

The "Guns, graves and battles" tour of Fort Canning was amazing! The guide (Sharul) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour sites were very well done and interesting. This is the only way to see the WWII command bunker which is definitely worthwhile.
