In the case like this I wonder where all the fairly good reviews are coming from. Well can't answer that. The least I can do is to warn you don't go near this place. It isn't a boutique hotel! There is nothing, absolutely nothing nice about the design, the pictures are even photoshoped or smartly taken but they don't give you a feeling of the hotel which is mostly smell of old and dirty carpets, within endless line of tiny corridors.
The room was a nightmare, was so small and dirty it was hard to believe the hotel room, with good reviews can have such a horrible space. Everything smells and is dirty with either old or fresh dirt like hairs on the floor, or stains on the sofa, on the curtains. The bathroom have literally black spots everywhere.
But if you decide it's worth to try I would advise take some flip flops so you don't touch anything and get yourself a towel.
Ah ok, least but not last, "rooms with windows are subject to availability" so you either get a room with no window at all, or with a tiny window facing staircase.
Pick a good hostel or an apartment.

Room Tip: I don't believe there are good room, all are dirty and noisy.

I've stayed here several times. Very inexpensive by Singapore standards, about $70USD a night. Very small rooms but very clean. In the heart of Chinatown. Great food a half block away. Non peak taxi to/from hotel/airport is about $20 USD ($25 SGD). Perfect place for a night or two as a base from which to explore Singapore. From walking off of the plane at Changi, through customs and picking up a checked bag to the hotel is about an hour. The airport in Singapore is amazingly efficient. Business travel often requires a night in Singapore to catch a flight. Take the short time needed and get away from the airport. Coming back into the airport is also very very quick and easy. Security checking is at each gate so there are no long TSA type lines or customs hassles. From the hotel back through checkin and into the main airport is also about an hour - depending on traffic of course. I usually arrive in the evening and have an early morning flight so the "one hour" transit time reflects that time of day. It's not what one might think of as a "hotel room". If you want a big room then you can easily pay $200-$300/night USD and up. This hotel is meant to be a cleanplace to sleep and shower and it's perfect for that.

The hotel has a convenient location in Chinatown, very near pubs, restaurants, stores and malls. The receptionists were very nice and helpful. The hotel is reasonable priced for hotel rates in Singapore. Room and bathroom clean (not spotless). Room small and weird distribution but ok for the price. Amenities ok. Bottled water, coffee and tea complimentary in the room. Wi-Fi connection ok. My room faced the street but it was not as noisy as I expected it to be, little traffic at night, you may hear noise from the pubs nearby. The hotel met my expectations and I would stay here again if I had to.

Room Tip: If you don't want ANY noise, make sure the room doesn't face the street but consider that th...

Stayed here for 2 nights. It's good location as you can walk to the food market at night and not too far from the station. The concierges are nice. You can leave your own luggage after checking out if you have late flight and don't wanna take your own stuff around. They provide 2 bottles of water everyday. Even it's not big but it's okay to stay there :) ps. you can hear noise from garbage truck at night if you stay at the roadside.

This is my first time travelling to Singapore. The hotel is in the great location, you can get there just only 2 mins from MRT Chinatown. This area surrounded by the chinese food. The room is small same as other hotel in singapore but they provided us all amenities. The staff can speak English and they are helpful. The hotel also have luggage room which it is very good for backpackers like us. I think i will stay here again if i back to singapore again.
