Use to be better!

I have stayed here like 7 times so far in the past two years. Sadly, hygiene wise it's only getting worse. Last time around the toilet's situation was beyond description. This is the side from where people go upstairs so on many evenings a lot of drunk travellers end up using it and sort of messing up. Anyhow, the rooms are alright. Certain beds may not have wifi reception. No lockers in the room, so you have to put your stuff under the bed. Smaller lockers available near the reception. The staff is alright. The filipinas were nice and friendly. Location is a bit of a walk to places, yet in comparison to many it's quite nice. I stay here again and again for the sake of fruits that they offer during breakfast. It's just a nice change to usual bread and spread only breakfast in most hostels around. Which explains the few bucks extra they charge (in comparison). Also, the coffee is the best i've had in any hostel. You're allowed one free espresso with ur breakfast and it's just perfect. The house keeping is efficient on some days. Did find a whole of dust and trash under the bunk. Also, plenty of long term travellers/workers staying here. Dorm literally never leave the room. Kinda strange! Anyhow, so with breakfast being one of the major reasons, i wouldn't say much about anything else. Oh and the rooftop is nice for socialising and beers (which are cheaper than other places). I'd hope and wish for the place to get cleaner.

We found our stay at the green kiwi to be exactly what we were looking for. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy, also well air conditioned. The showers were really good too. The free breakfast was useful considering how expensive Singapore is. The hostel has a nice atmosphere and a great roof top garden so it is easy to meet new people.

If you happen to be spending you birthday in Singapore. Why not buy a cake, notify the counter, and invite whoever has time that night at the hostel!? you'd be amazed to meet fun people from around the world.

It's really clean and recently-renovated. However, I don't recommend to stay in large rooms of 16. people come and go, and may wake you up at night.

Room tip: don't miss the morning coffee!

We booked bunks in a 10 room dorm and were surprised to find two older ladies who apparently are long(er) term guests? It didn't seem like they ever left the room and spent most of the time harping at staff to get linens changed or to turn down the a/c. We felt a little uncomfortable leaving our belongings in the room as there are no full sized lockers - only small lockers in the common area for valuables. The dorm overall wasn't extremely social, mainly due to a large amount of older people who appeared to be locals? Overall, the facilities are okay and pretty clean.

I think next time we will try to find a hostel closer to Chinatown and the bay with a younger crowd.

Surprisingly good!!! The guys manning the desk were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and showered down every night. Aircon in the room was great. Room was 'compact' but adequate to use as a base. Basic breakfast was provided (tea/coffee, toast and spreads) but totally fine as a quick bite to eat before heading out.

Room tip: All rooms look out onto a busy road, but the twin bunk was great and a little more private than the 8 bedded dorms.
