There was no entrance fee going to the sky level 55th floor but the concierge would let you go in and all your companions if you spend 20$ in this mall and show the receipt. It was all worth it! The view was perfect! I think this is a must see for tourists.

This is just a gimmick to make people spend money in the mall. The view isn't even nice to begin with. You're just looking at many buildings and it's not even designed to be photogenic, unlike the Marina Bay Sands or the Fullerton lookout.

The Marina Bay Sands observatory is not free but it's nicer since you will see the urban architecture designed by Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority.

The cityscape view from Fullerton is free and shows you the marina bay landscape complete with Marina Bay Sands on the background. Another viewpoint from the Singapore Flyer will show you the view of the Central Business District which has changed over the years.

This Ion Sky is really nothing much to shout about. I wouldn't recommend wasting time to queue here especially if you have a short visit to Singapore.

Short queuing time to enter the place. There was a video about the history of Singapore before the screens reveal a panoramic glass panel. I could see Singapore from a different perspective and it was absolutely beautiful!

I received 5 complimentary tickets to visit Ion Sky in my Ion app, thanks to my usual shopping and dining in Ion. Seems you will get a ticket with every $20 spent, valid for 30 days. First time I noticed these tickets in my app cos I may have missed them in the past. Anyway, booked the 2.45pm to 3.30pm show on the app. You can book about one week in advance. You go to the lifts behind the customer service counter at level 4 at precisely 2.45pm, you cannot be more than 5 minutes late. Take the lift to 55th floor. There’s a short 10-minute laser show on Singapore history and then the blinds are drawn back to reveal the whole of Singapore almost. The view is spectacular, with helpful notes in the windows showing the name of the place infront of you. Worth a visit especially since it’s “free”.

* but you have to spend $20 per person over 12 years old at any Ion shop, download the Ion app, scan the receipt and pre-book a slot. You can also visit the concierge and get help... so it’s a phaff!

Follow Ion SKY signage to level four. At exactly your pre-appointed time, your code will work. Scan the QR code as many times as you have tickets reserved. Catch the lift up to level 55. Watch a 3-4 minute video and then the view is revealed. At 25 minutes past the hour, the crowd of max 40 (plus kids) is ushered downstairs.

That’s it! An enjoyable view. The usher at level 55 was particularly friendly, professional and beautifully turned out.
