We had a fantastic couple of hours at Bugis street market, there are hundreds of stall selling everything you can imagine. Make sure you eat at one of the local food outlets, there are lots to choose from and they all look amazing. Its where all the local people eat so you know the food is good.

You can buy souvenirs here if you'd like to buy oleh2 or gifts for your family and friend back home. The cheap store I found was named Toko ABC. You can also find good Singapore street food and juice. If you're hungry, there's a Hawker Canter called Albert - good food and not so expensive (even if more expensive than Maxwell in China Town)
