The Bukit Brown Cementery tour is a fascinating walk through Singapore's history and gives you a view into the lives of the people who built this nation. Tour guides Darren and Chern Yung brought history alive and "introduced" us to 8 people who lie in this cemetery and their stories. I have been a resident of Singapore for 12 years and can't believe I have not done this tour earlier. It provided many insights into the Chinese culture and history in my adopted country. I strongly recommend this tour to others!

Be it you are a person who is into paranormal or a nature lover who love peace and quietness, this should be a place that can provide you something (even as a couple, you may find this a spot for something unusual)

for those into cultural heritage, the design and artefacts of the tombs and the writings (on the tombs) may give you a clue and some historical background of certain important figures who lived and contributed in Singapore (but you need to have a strong grasp of Chinese language to fully understand this) but I m not sure will their tombs exhumed by then?!?!!?

Gd that tourists stay off, cos I really don't think one would come all the way here for a nature walk , donating your blood to mosquitoes under the hot sun

Go visit it before it is fully gone!! there s even a website that documents the whole bt brown project

Do not be misled by what you may have read elsewhere - Bukit Brown, or Coffee Hill to the Chinese, has more heritage value than it does for the self-styled paranormal enthusiasts.

Several century-old graves existed, and along with others, have been curated in a digital archive for posterity.

Commuters on the future Thomson Line will zip past and not realise it is there.

This is a wonderful place, full of mysteries best detected when taking one of the tours offered by the volunteers who will reveal to you details you would not even pay attention to, or at least not understand (tours found via bukitbrown.com) It is a hidden treasure that even many residents do not know. I survived without insect repellent but felt the consequences for days. I will definitely return for another walk either with or without a guide as this is such a peaceful, tranquil place.

The Cemetery is (or cemeteries are) very beautiful: the trees and secondary jungle are cooling even on a hot day; and the guided tour, led by amiable and well-informed volunteer guides, is instructive and quite splendid. It is a thousand pities that a road - don't they have enough of these already, in Singapore? - is being driven right through the middle of it; and it will be ten thousand pities if they then pick off and destroy the rest, bit by concrete bit. Best go now while the incomparable beauty of this part of Singapore can still be experienced.
