We stayed 4 nights in this hotel which was very close to the MRT in Chinatown and excellent central location to a variety of restuarants. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. The king size bed was most pleasant to sleep in. The view of the city at night was also refreshing. We made use of the swimming pool and laundry. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer and each was $8 to operate. Very convenient after having lived out of a suitcase for 10 days. The staff at the concierge were most helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and very enjoyable too. Would stay here again.

We visit Singapore every five years, by way of celebrating Wedding Anniversaries, as we stayed at the Furama City Centre on our Honeymoon. I think this time, we noticed the biggest changes to this htel and sadly not for the better.

The staff are still very helpful and friendly and although the room check-in is not until 16:30, they got us into our room at 12:30, which was appreciated, as we had arrived in Singapore at 7:30 in the morning. Before our room was ready, they gave us access to the shower in the gym, so that we could freshen up. Although it was great having early access to our room, we were disappointed to be in a room looking out on to the central reception atrium, which meant that the room had no natural light and no view. By our third and last day, this was beginning to feel a bit oppressive, even though we were out and about all day every day.

The rooms have been refurbed and whilst they look quite cool, I can't say I much like being able to see the shadow of my partner sitting on the toilet through a frosted glass door, whilst I lay in bed! The lighting in the room is patchy, due to it being almost all halogen spots. It is all but impossible to apply cosmetics using the mirror behind the sink, as the lighting is so poor in that area and there is not another mirror in the room.

The hotel seems to be used by alot of air crew these days. The hotel has turned what was the hotel bar into a conference room, and installed a small bar in the hotel reception lobby area. This area is now the only lounge area, which means when the air crews are gathering to await collection to go back to the airport, there is nowhere for other guests to sit and have a quiet drink. This was the case on a couple of evenings during our stay, when we arrived back after a meal out and wanted a night cap before retiring.

There is no doubt that the location of this hotel is really great. Clarke Quay and China Town are literally on the door step, in easy walking distance and there are MRT stations close by giving easy access to the rest of the city. It's immediately adjactent to Peoples Park Centre shopping mall, which is a good retail outlet, with a great food hall - excellent for a good cheap meal.

On our last day, they were happy to store our luggage while we walked to Clarke Quay for a last visit before we moved to another hotel and the door staff quickly got us a taxi on our return to the hotel.

It was a good stay, but we think we will look for an alternative venue when next we make this special trip.

Room Tip: If you don't want natural light, room 434 would be ideal - quiet with constant low level false...

Very central, convenient location particularly to China town. Room very small, wear and tear becoming very obvious. Quiet room however, heard no noise what so ever.Walk out of door and into China town...food stalls by the hundreds Public transport easy to obtain and MRT close. Staff very helpful. Didn't eat at hotel as so much cheaper and fun sampling at the food stalls and Peoples Park shopping center across the road

I think this hotel has to be in one of the most central locations to get around singapore. The staff are very polite and go out of there away to assist in anyway possible. As we like walking it was only a short walk to most attractions in the city, although transport is also very accessible from the hotel.

I would definitely stay there again.

Hotel is in close proximity to transport. Shopping centre across the road is good. Recommend having breakfast at Coffee 168 directly across the road. Very cheap and good food.

Easy access to MRT with routes straight to Sentosa Island. Catch bus number 2 to get to Changing museum.
