My favorite thing about this hotel is the great location. It is steps from two MRT stations as well as walking distance from many tourist sights. The National Museum is practically at the corner. My room was clean and fairly spacious, though the lighting was too low. At 220 SGD/night it was a decent, if not great, value. There was a major issue during my first night in the hotel. Singapore is a very hot place and the temperature in my room was uncomfortably hot. In the morning, I called the front desk and a maintenance person was quickly dispatched to my room (by the way, the staff is quite friendly and responsive). He immediately checked the AC filter and it was caked with several inches of dust. After installing a new filter, all was well and my room was delightfully cool for the rest of my stay. I think it is incumbent upon the hotel to better maintain the AC filters. It boggles my mind that guests before me just accepted the unacceptable condition. I found the included "breakfast" to be less than mediocre and would like to see the hotel restaurant, closed for years, open once again. In summary, my rating is based mostly on the location. The next time I visit Singapore, I might choose to stay in a more full service hotel..
