Stayed here for 3 nights. Pros: 1. Absolutely love the outdoor area where you can watch sunsets and relax under the sun. 2. Netflix/YouTube available on their TV. 3. Hot water for showering is consistent. 4. Very near to Outram Park MRT and 10 mins walk to Chinatown Point. 5. Check in/check out was smooth and fast. Cons: 1. Room is dated and feels very old/tired - paint peeling, black mould in bathroom grout. Room does not feel very clean overall. 2. Floor was not vacuumed when we first checked in. Lots of stray hair and crumbs on the floor. 3. Outdoor bathtub really dirty with stains. No such thing as bathing under the stars as advertised on their website. We couldn’t bring ourselves to go near it much less use it. 4. Rooftop bar next door plays thumping loud music all day. Thankfully we can only hear them when we’re out on the patio. 5. Lack of privacy - patrons at the rooftop bar next door can see you clear as day if you take a few steps near the ledge. 6. No fridge to keep your drinks cool. 7. No in-room telephone so any problems you will have to physically go down to reception. Other side notes: 1. For light sleepers, be aware that you will be awoken by birds chirping non stop at 7am. Overall, we think the room is not too bad considering the price we paid (we used a promotion so got it for half the price). If we had paid the actual full price, I think we would be more dissatisfied. Understand that it’s covid period and the industry is a bit depressing with no tourists but I still think that’s not a reason to fall short on cleanliness of the room, especially when guests first check in. Keep your expectations low and you will have a pretty good stay here. More
