Not luxury by any stretch of the imagination but reasonably comfortable if very small room. Abundance of places to eat nearby in Chinatown from street food to mid range and places to buy take-away breakfast fodder. Most of the critical reviews appear to be from people who had not researched the hotel before booking - for example it is no secret that the rooms are small or that there is no lift and what do you expect anyway from a small historic hotel in Chinatown?

Room Tip: might prefer a rear facing room

We were a group of mostly elderly people. We had not realised there was no lift and really struggled to get our cases up the stairs. Rooms were very small, hardly enough space to put two suitcases on the floor. The wardrobe smelt musty. Tea-making facilities were a bonus and the shower was spacious. The main advantage was being in Chinatown, with restaurants and the market on the doorstep. The room on the front was not as noisy as expected and the air conditioning helped us get a good nights sleep.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter but have a dreary outlook

This hotel is awful as soon as you enter. There is no lift and no one to help you with your luggage . As soon as we entered our room , the smell of damp hit us . Damp is also all over the walls. There was no table and only one side table. So the suitcases have to stay on the floor. The bathroom was awful , i refused to get into the bath, the plastic curtain was smelly and dirty. The air conditioning was so noisy we could not sleep. It is also expensive as there is no breakfast. The situation in China Town is ok but you can find something better , anyway you can’t find worse. Will never co e back to this hotel.

Small room, smell of damp, bath worn, shower hose falling to bits, no lift so have to carry bags up stairs. No breakfast. However, good location close to Chinatown MET, plenty of restaurants nearby. Not value for money.

We stayed 3 nights - we cant recommend this hotel. The rooms are very old. The first room we got, the window couldn’t close, the bathroom was dirty, the bed linens had blood stains and the tapestry was falling off.

We complained and got a new room. The new room was worse. In the second room the windows couldn’t open. Flies were coming out of bathroom drain. The bathroom ventilation was so dirty it didn’t work. The AC had so much dust in it, that we were afraid to get sick. It was very hard to breathe inside the room, because of the lack of ventilation, and the room also had a very bad smell.. We could not sleep for the whole stay. Stay away. This hotel is not worth the money.
