When you walk in there is no denying the very dated decor of the place - but it just adds to the charm!

The staff are attentive, the menu's are on blackboards and the wine list is extensive and there are some amazing deals to be found.

The food is old school Swiss/British. And excellent.

I keep going back to the restaurant for lunch and supper, a favourite.

Went with friends for a late dinner, this was a great place. Wonderful host (Paul, old school Malaysian) who really knows how to source and cook steak, lamb and ham. Just like at home with fresh vegetables. A change from Chinese rice based cooking.
And the best bit... the wine list was amazing. Old school with great french wines. Not cheap but then class is never cheap and Singapore is always expensive.

Have been here since 1994 when they first opened. Mr POH the owner has an elephant memory and remembered what I ordered the first time I came to tavern in 1994. Chablis with oysters and Dover sole. Twenty two years forward, I am here again and remained impressed. There are some nice favorites like cheese raclette and goose liver terrine. Then there's the not on the menu beef tartare...fantastic. The beef steaks are great and POH had got a fabulous selection of wines. Try it. No regrets.

My Husband and I came here for dinner. We had soups and main course only. Food was superb and portions very big. The steak fillet and tenderloin were grilled to perfection, the way we wanted. Very fresh ingredients were used. Even the house bread was warm and soft and very tasty. Very good value for money and excellent service.

I have been going to The Tavern for nearly 20 years and went back again last night. raclette was very good as was the veal Zurich style. I was part of a large group and we all enjoyed it. Good wine list.
Staff are long term employees - friendly and reliable.
Worth a visit.
