I have stayed at this hotel before, when it was called BIG hotel. It is now called Hotel G and appears to have had a complete remodel. The current layout is more accommodating to business guests, as the room I am in has a spacious desk to work at (A Great King Room). There was a glitch upon checking in, as the first room that I was assigned seemed extremely small for this particular room category. It was a corner room at the end of a corridor. When I questioned this, I was shown another option in the same room type, and what a difference. Room appears to be about three times larger. Not sure why the hotel would put the two rooms in the same category (1328 and 817) but the manager assured me they were a similar size. Optical illusion maybe?

That aside, the room has everything you would need for a short stay. There is no fridge, which is a small bug bear of mine since I like to put fresh milk in my tea, but other than that, things seem reasonable and clean. The A/C is a bit temperamental, you either seem to be freezing (at 23 degrees) or boiling (at 24 degrees), but with a bit of back and forward, you can manage through the night.

Location is great for this hotel, very central, and good access to a number of different MRT's. The restaurant downstairs Ginett is nice for a wine or light meal, and it's always good to have a late night burger joint next door in my opinion, in case I get randomly hungry with Jetlag! Gym is functionally fine but very dark with no windows, which is a shame. This is a solid choice in a budget to mid range hotel category if you are looking for modern decor, good location, pretty clean and reasonably functional.

Excellent location.
Spotless rooms.
Terrific breakfast menu, range and quality.
Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff, and the bar staff extremely welcoming and pointed us in the right direction to make the most of our visit.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

While the rooms in this hotel are not very big, what they lack in space they make up for with comfort and friendly service. The bed is large and comfortable (but it's pushed up against three walls, so you can only climb in from one side, so for couples one of them will be in the hotel equivalent of a window seat), and the bathroom is efficient (though it has one of those translucent glass walls between the shower and the bedroom, letting light in that would disturb someone still trying to sleep while someone else is showering). These minor quirks aside, I would stay here again since it's very conveniently located and the price is right.

The staff here are extremely polite and friendly! They managed to get us in a room early, and let us check out late although they had no obligation to do so. The rooms are quite, small but comfortable. Not ideal for a family, but for couples or individuals you will be perfectly fine. The beds are comfy and the showers have good pressure. There is no fridge in the rooms, and no cots available if your travelling with a baby or toddler so you’d need to bring your own portacot. The buffet breakfast is $13 if you preorder the day before, I’ve had better but you will be filled up. It’s very hard to find anywhere nearby that is open for breakfast that’s cheaper since most places open late. There is disabled access. The location is great, there are museums, restaurants and shops nearby.

Room Tip: No fridges in rooms, no cots available.

Hotel G has an absolutely bizarre layout and entry. The check in process is also not as efficient as it could be. They collect $50 Singapore dollar deposit for every night you stay. So if you stay 5 nights be ready to pay them $250. I don’t like that. The room itself is small but comfy. This should be a 3 Star review but because the staff is nice I will give it 4 Stars. The check in process is flawed for sure!
