Great experience as I got to know & play with friends whom I just met on that day! The effects were amazing and surprising to us and we all had fun! Would recommned to friends! :)
Effects were fantastic! great for bonding sessions! I felt so immersed in the entire escape game throughout the 1 hour.
The puzzles in Upside Down were detailed and challenging enough, and I enjoyed the theme of the room.
ANNABELLE WAS DAMN FUN LAH - my parents sacrificed themselves HAHA and we managed to escape 1 minute before it ends yayyyyyyyyy
It was an awesome experience in the upside down room! Love the mystery and excitement throughout the game. Would definitely come back again! :)
Our last day in Singapore and our family of 4 (Mum, dad, 2 teenage sons 16 & 18) needed an indoor activity out of the heat and to pass the time as our plane didn't leave till evening. XCape in Bugis Village was rated the #1 fun indoor activity on TripAdvisor so we thought we'd give it a go - our younger son being the only one who had been in Escape Room before. The Upside Down Room (Harry Potter-themed) was the easiest room and you can play with a minimum of 4 people. We paid $88 in total, were taken into the room by a staff member, the rules were explained and we were locked in the room for 60 minutes with 6 puzzles to decode in order to unlock the door. The first thing that struck me that the reception area was messy and untidy and staff were not outstandingly friendly or helpful, though the guy that helped us solve the last few puzzles was helpful. The Upsidedown Room was small, there were two locked chests on the floor and you had to solve multiple puzzles to unlock the contents. We managed the first 3 in 30 minutes but got stuck on working out the required maths for the 4th puzzle. We had two Etcha-Sketches to work out the maths with (one didn't work well at all) - a calculator or plain old paper and pencil would have been far more useful and easier. Hence we couldn't work out the maths and waved at the ceiling camera for help, as we'd been instructed to do. I waved 3 times before a staff member finally came in to assist us and so we lost precious minutes. We then had to place 4 hands on a wall puzzle in unison to unlock it, and despite trying many times, nothing worked. Waved at the camera again, staff member came in and recommended that two people place their hands on the wall, not 4 of us each using one hand. And guess what, it worked - I don't think we would have ever have worked that one out by ourselves. The last puzzle was a giant wooden puzzle and we couldn't work out which way it should face. Our 60 minutes was up, we'd needed help on puzzles 4 & 5 and we couldn't do #6. Overall the experience was slightly disappointing - possibly the puzzles are a little too complicated for beginners or else we're not smart enough ...
