This original outlet in a local coffeeshop serves the best XO fish been hoon soup in town along with other just as good zi char dishes. Service could have been better though, so if you want to dine in the comfort of air-conditioning or simply not have their rude boss ruin your day, check out their other outlet in Chinatown instead.

The food is still as good as before:
Expect to find thick slices of snakehead in the rich soup base of your bee hoon soup. Range of food is pretty limited too!

Store owner could have been more polite instead of shouting at customers!

This coffee shop is located along Dover Road, opposite a new cluster of HDB flats that have a Sheng Siong Supermarket. Its near Star Vista and Singapre Polytechnic.

I frequent this coffee shop quie a bit, cos I like the chicken rice at this food court.

On a recent visit, I decided to order the XO Sliced Fish with thick vermicelli from this stall. It costs me $7. Yes, the stall actually add a dash of XO VSOP into your noodles! Without XO, it will costs $1 less.

This stall is previously located at Holland Drive and shifted to this food court some years ago.

They go by the no of pax eating. It costs $12 (2 pax), $15 (3 pax), $20 (4 pax) and $25 – 30 (5 pax and above). Prices are slightly cheaper if there’s no XO.

Other signatures include the ‘Sam Loh’ which is stir fried hor fun (Broad flat white noodles with bean sprouts and sliced fish, prawn paste chicken, vegetables.

Although pricey, the taste of the broth is good and the XO adds a nice flavour. You wouldn’t get the alcohol rush, as it evaporated, so its more the flavour of the soup.

If you are taking it away, you can order it without the XO and add your own XO when you are at home!

Try it!

Food's great. Xo Fish noodles, San Lao horfun, prawn paste chicken and norhiang make a solid meal for 5 or more. Pricey but worth it. The servers were really scary at times with their cold stares and strange gestures. The boss sometimes exclaims incomprehensibly as well. So just ignore your surroundings, dig into the food, and you'll do fine.
