We booked this hotel with the intention of keeping our Singapore layover relatively inexpensive. It's a great little place, recently refurbished and close to a variety of good places to eat. The rooms are spacious for Singapore, however the window shutters are a strange addition. The staff are beyond helpful and make staying here a must. When we arrived we had the wrong currency for the taxi, and the receptionist went out of her way and borrowed us the money. The hotel itself is modern and fresh. I would definitely recommend.

I like the styles, modern. I like the clean service. I like the amentity comes up with the rate of 3 stars hotels. Room is pretty neat and comfort. I fell cozy. Good sleep at night. I like the room. It's not too small for a room. Furniture is comvenient. Pretty good room and good for a night to stay. WORTHWHILE...I understand how it's called EXELLENT By Trip advisor at the Front Desk. Further, receptionist is very nice. Give a lot of sincere and good advice.

Room Tip: Clean Neat Good communication and sincere receptionist.

Was a little worried at first after booking this place because it was so much cheaper than the other hotels in Singapore and heard some 'interesting' things about geylang area. but trust me you wont be disappointed with this place. Its a small, comfortable room that is just the right size with a neat bathroom thats larger than expected. No facilities besides accommodation but in Singapore you are gonna spend your whole day sightseeing what more do you need. There are no nefarious activities going on in the neighborhood contrary to what you hear.
There is an amazing food center nearby where you get local, Vietnamese, Thai, Arabic, Indian and even a Malyali counter which is amazing.
The train station is just around the bend which is very convenient and money exchange right across the road.
what more do you need in Singapore.
Advise: If you drink pick up a bottle at duty free cause its much more expensive around here.
Special thanks to Hendra at the counter who made things very comfortable right from check in till we left by giving us the place 4 hrs before checkin time, helping with travel adapters and directions. Our check in time was 1 PM but we were given the room at 9 AM without any hassle.
One flaw is there is no window in the room but then again as tourists it kept the light out and helped us have a good nap till 9 am.

My fiance and I arrived at the Champion hotel to be greeted at reception, told our room number and went up the lift to our room.
The hotel is nicely decorated very modern looking and bright colours. They had a vending machine downstairs as well as 2 computers for guest use, and seating next to the lifts. Our room was nice and clean, a large bathroom with shower and double bed with the necessary items. Our windows had shutters on the outside which were very unique and colourful. Our room was on the side of the hotel, which was better to be honest because it backed on to a side street rather than the busier Joo Chiat Road.
We hired a motorbike for the week and use to park it opposite our room window where there are specific motorbike parking spaces, you do have to pay for them but you just go to 7/11 round the corner in Joo Chiat Complex and buy the $0.50 parking tickets which lasts all day.
By parking our bike outside our window, it was peace of mind to be able to see it. Plus the spaces were outside a local restaurant, which we then started eating at and was brilliant. We can't remember the name of the place, but it's yellow and has chairs and tables outside. Their food was gorgeous and very cheap for saying Singapore is usually quite expensive.
Very handy nearby the hotel, across the road from the entrance is Joo Chiat Complex an area of shops, and mainly the large supermarket which shuts quite late about 10-11pm. In between the hotel and supermarket, there's a taxi rank which is great when you need a taxi at whatever time!
Hotel can be quite expensive, but so is the whole city, but it's perfect spot for a lot of things and a short 5-10 min walk to the MTR into the city.
Highly recommend it though

Room Tip: Room on side street rather than main road
