Champion hotel is a small hotel with small rooms and bathrooms but clean. The doble bed is perhaps less than 140cm wide. The area is relatively far from the center and you have to walk between 15 and 20 mn to the next metro station (Paya Lebar). Reception staff is OK. It seems that is a relatively good compromise price/quality for Singapore where hotels are excessively expensive…

This hotel is better than what I expected. For the same amount of money, in another hotel you will only get a tiny room and a very very standard facilities. However in this hotel you will get a very spacious room and quite good facilities - amenities. Value for money indeed!

Location is good, only around 10-15 mins walk from Paya Lebar Station or around 5 mins bus ride. Also near to bus stop with many buses that can take you to many places in Singapore.

Many Halal eateries nearby, including a very very busy with long queue Hjh Maimunah Restaurant.

The only bad thing is that the room is not really soundproof. Can still hear people talking and laughing from outside the hotel at night. Also can still hear people from other room conversing.

Overall, nice stay. Will recommend to friends and colleagues and will be back myself. Thank you.

Located in Joo Chiat Rd, eastern side of Singapore. 1 hour from Changi airport by bus, where the shelter is within walking distance (150-200M away from the hotel). No breakfast included or no restaurant inside the hotel but since it's rather close to Geylang Serai Market to find food (I recommend the Nasi Mandhi), then it's okay. Also so many restaurants around and a Seven Eleven beside the bus shelter. Clean room & bathroom, nice front desk service, fast check in/ check out, luggage storages, only the wall is kinda thin so you can hear sounds from the next room or hallway. But overall, this hotel is kinda nice for a reasonable price. Just don't bother to pick a room with windows, not a quite view to see. Will stay here again.
PS if you're wondering if this hotel located in red district of Geylang, no it's not. It's quite distant from there and Champion is located in a Muslim/Melayu district so most of foods in Geylang Serai Market are halal.

My husband and our two friends, all in our 60's all stayed at this hotel during a 3 day stopover on our way to Europe. We like to stay out of the main tourist areas so we can experience the real Singapore and we weren't disappointed. The area (Joo Chiat) was a wonderful multicultural area, with lots of local eateries, shops and a small supermarket. Not the most glamourous area but we loved it. Walking distance to train and bus. The hotel itself was fairly basic but clean, good air con (much needed in singapore) comfortable beds, good water pressure in the shower, good wifi and very helful friendly staff. They were very accomodating in storing our luggage for the day after we checked out and even providing towels and toiletries and access to a shower when we arrived back (hot and sweaty) to collect our luggage that afternoon. Rooms were a bit on the small side but we were out exploring every day, so only there to sleep so it wasn't an issue. Towels were a bit on the thin and small side but for an inexpensive hotel we were overall very happy with our choice. Used the bus and rail system, which is wonderful and also the hop on hop off bus which is well worth the money.

We booked Deluxe Twins and we were impressed with the size of the rooms. The hotel is very new and amenities are up to par. It's very easy to find and there is a bus stop that is just 2 stops away from Paya Lebar station. Staff are friendly and accommodating too, they offer their extra electric adaptors without even asking. It's around Muslim area so expect many halal hawkers but I will stay here again next time. Though, I think there are some toiletries missing. But overall, it was a lovely stay.

Room Tip: We love our room on the 4th floor
