We went as a party of 15 adults to eat at the Sakura International Buffet at Clementi Road. None of us having eaten here before.
The entrance to the restaurant starts at the car park, going down what initially appeared as a formidable flight of spiral stairs to the lowest level of the building. There are no lifts, but access is possible by driving down the road to the unloading or delivery bay at the end of the road. There’s a dark brown door that leads to the main entrance of the restaurant without having to negotiate steps. It’s possible therefore, to have wheel chair access.

The various types of food laid out is simply amazing! You could help yourself to the buffet from a selection that includes all the Japanese standards like sushi, sashimi, tempura and teppanyaki, complemented by dim sum, lobster salad, grilled meats, some Italian, Asian and Indian dishes, not counting the wide desert spread form fruits, waffles, ice cream including their specialities: Bird Nest Egg Tarts, Molten Lava Cake with Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate; and tea or coffee.

The layout of food is very systematic and neat, dishes clearly labelled and contents refilled promptly. The variety of different food is impressive and has to been seen, but don’t expect gourmet or Master Chef quality food! They use disposable wooden chopsticks and paper napkins, but metal spoons, forks and knives are available. It is certainly worth your dollar if you wish to indulge. Good venue for couples, large groups even for corporate events. The lighting is more than adequate, the sound level decent. No need to shout across the table. There’s ample seating, with a view of the greenery outside.
To sample the variety of food, do browse through my pictures, as a picture speaks a thousand words!

The establishment serves Halal food only, so everyone is welcome. There’s no WiFi. Credit cards are accepted as well as Nets or cash. The are many car park lots available and payable under the URA coupon scheme. Remember: To avoid the spiral staircase for the infirm and elderly, use the Loading Bay at the end of the car park drive.

The International Buffet is priced at as follows:
Lunch on Mondays to Fridays (12 pm to 3 pm) is $22.00 for adults and senior citizens; $14.90 for children.

Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays (11.30am to 3.30pm) is $33.90 adults; $29.90 senior citizens and $15.90 children.

Dinner from Mondays to Thursdays (6.00pm to 10.00pm )is $33.90 adults; $29.90 senior citizens and $15.90 children.
And Dinner from Fridays to Sundays (5.30 to 10.00pm) $38.00 adults; $32.90 senior citizens; $16.90 children.
The above charges do not include the Tax and Service Charges.
Their Business Card show that there are six other Sakura outlets spread over the island, mostly in the heartlands.

This restaurant has a great location, right on top of clementi woods. Parking is ample at the entrance to the restaurant. There are two levels to the restaurant. A great variety of food which are average. If you are not expecting much, then this place is a good place in view of the surrounding.

The restaurant is well located and clean and the staff very friendly and professional. However, we found the food quality very inequal depending on the meal. The sushis and sashimis were very good, we appreciated less the pastas, dim sum, desserts. Expensive for what it is (unless you eat a lot).

Ok, so what did I think?

I simply didn't enjoy it. Food wasn't replenished and not the greatest quality when it was.

Dim sum, good choice but didn't taste great.

Seafood bucket was only available when the chef prepared it. Had to wait an hour! The lobster Hokkien mee wasn't that nice either.

No lava cake. Read about this and really wanted to try, dessert choices were poor and the ice cream is called Gelato. Making it sound posh by calling it ice cream in Italian is not a good idea.

Sushi didn't look appetising so I stayed away. Only one winner.

Prawn paste chicken wings. They were good.

Price should be lower considering quality is poor. Will stick to Todai in future. I think they're poor too, but better than here, service was good though.

Located at Clementi Woods Park which is close to NUS and West Coast Road. Food was good with mixture of different Asian delicacies. Worth the money spend. Will visit again
