Owner description: Cruising since 1987. For more than a decade and a half, bumboats have been plying the Singapore River. The story of Singapore River Cruise begins in 1987. The "Clean Rivers Campaign" of 1983 saw the relocation of bumboats to Pasir Panjang. The familiar painted faces of our Bumboats were due to disappear from its home, until SRC was awarded the tender license to run river services here - the first also, to operate such services along the river. We are entering a new chapter in the Singapore River story. In this modern age, Bumboats on this historic waterway remind us of its rustic charm. SRC has been preserving the heritage of this important river for more than two decades. Its bumboats have become the icon of our river to visitors and locals alike. 2008 was a year when our iconic bumboats underwent a transformation. The diesel-powered engines of SRC's fleet made way for a new generation of electric ones that boast quieter engines and zero CO2 emissions. These are the very boats that operate along the Singapore River today. SRC is committed to greater excellence. Under its strong management, the company has developed a firm network of channel intermediaries from government agencies, embassies, event organizers and other operators in the tourism sector, both local and overseas. From a humble fleet of 4 bumboats in 1987, SRC has since increased its number to 24 today with a few new additions coming onboard soon.

“Interesting scenic trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 week ago

You can sail down the river on a replica of an old trading ship that is now powered by electricity so as to be less polluting. There are outside and covered seating areas and a commentary on the interesting places on either bank in English. I don't know which other languages are available. The whole thing lasts about an hour and is a very nice way of seeing some of the more interesting buildings etc from the relative calm of the river rather than the bustle of the street.

A 40 minute bumboat ride with many pick up and drop off points. There is an interesting pre recorded commentary. We started our trip at the MBS during the afternoon. Poor customer servce at booking booth. The female staff were disinterested and could not inform us when the boats were arriving or leaving. Heard that the evening cruises are good.

“Laser light show by river cruise at night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We spent a lovely relaxing and enjoyable river cruise to see the famous laser light show. This informative cruise gives a history of the area along the way including the Merlion down to the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. This quiet bumboat goes very close to the bay to view the laser light show whilst you drink the delicious fruit drink that the price includes. A very enjoyable attraction and some great photo shots can be obtained. There was no pre-booking required.

One of the highlights of our far eastern trip.

we were lucky that there were only a few people on the boat near to the end, we were the only couple.

As one of the previous reviewers mentioned, it gives you a really good perspective of the city and like all other city river cruises, gives a view that you can't get elsewhere.

Thoroughly recommended
