Owner description: Cruising since 1987. For more than a decade and a half, bumboats have been plying the Singapore River. The story of Singapore River Cruise begins in 1987. The "Clean Rivers Campaign" of 1983 saw the relocation of bumboats to Pasir Panjang. The familiar painted faces of our Bumboats were due to disappear from its home, until SRC was awarded the tender license to run river services here - the first also, to operate such services along the river. We are entering a new chapter in the Singapore River story. In this modern age, Bumboats on this historic waterway remind us of its rustic charm. SRC has been preserving the heritage of this important river for more than two decades. Its bumboats have become the icon of our river to visitors and locals alike. 2008 was a year when our iconic bumboats underwent a transformation. The diesel-powered engines of SRC's fleet made way for a new generation of electric ones that boast quieter engines and zero CO2 emissions. These are the very boats that operate along the Singapore River today. SRC is committed to greater excellence. Under its strong management, the company has developed a firm network of channel intermediaries from government agencies, embassies, event organizers and other operators in the tourism sector, both local and overseas. From a humble fleet of 4 bumboats in 1987, SRC has since increased its number to 24 today with a few new additions coming onboard soon.

“River tour from Clarke Quay to see the city”

Take a river tour boat from Clarke Quay for a different way to see the city. Get to see the old quayside buildings and the head out into the marina for a view of the new skyline.

“Delightful time on the river”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 week ago

Adults cost $25 and children were $15. We travelled up and down the Quay passing wonderful old and new buildings as well as the iconic places such as Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer. Make sure you take water with you as it can get quite hot. Also, a hat would be good.

“Excellent River cruise tour, Worth a ride ..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 week ago

Anyone who been to Singapore should take a little boat ride in the Clarke Quay .
Various reason given but simple one is this is the ONLY way to visualize the old Singapore River before it prosperous , or rather when Sir Stamford Raffles made Singapore a Free Trade Port.
Believed it or not, Singapore has gone thru so much changes in the land that even those people who lived at that time is unable to recognize the present Singapore

Well, this is not just a normal boat ride . One is able to see the current monuments, attractions from the boat right that no land transportation can give you that angle.
One cannot deny that only this boat ride gives you a Front angle of the well known Merlion (original at Fullerton ) that you will NEVER get on land.

Beside , there is a recorded commentary on the boat.

Well, there are also ways to get cheaper rides, just spend a little effort and go online to find local travel agencies . They should able to get you a lower price when you buy a package there.

TripAdvisor do also have a package for this and you can book directly .

Some tips for those who wants to know more about this attraction :

1) To guarantee a seat, one should be there 30 mins before the boat ride as the boat are normally goes out every hour
2) Next , this boat ride operates from 10 am to 10 pm daily.
3) Go in the evening time if you want a cooler ride as the day is hot and one likely to enjoy it , but note the crowd .

Last but not least , Enjoy !

“Interesting scenic trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 week ago

You can sail down the river on a replica of an old trading ship that is now powered by electricity so as to be less polluting. There are outside and covered seating areas and a commentary on the interesting places on either bank in English. I don't know which other languages are available. The whole thing lasts about an hour and is a very nice way of seeing some of the more interesting buildings etc from the relative calm of the river rather than the bustle of the street.
