With a wide range of exhibits, be prepared to spend at least half a day, if not longer here. General admission is free for locals, with some special exhibits which require fees (although these are free for students and teachers).

The museum is a work of art. Huge collection of Southeast Asian art housed in an architecturally stunning building. There are interesting activities to engage the young while we were there. A lovely place to visit if you are in the Civic District. There was a popular cafe (close to the cells) and we enjoyed the ambience. Truly worth a repeat visit!

Formerly a court house and redesigned by a french architect firm. Maybe due to covid, the last superstar exhibition was Yayoi 2-3 years ago. The architecture is stunning though. So is the 3 michelin star restaurant Odette

Came primarily for the Gormley exhibits but found the Chua Mia Tee gallery far more engaging. Only managed to see the black self-portrait prostrate and the intriguing silver hoops on the Ng Teng Fong deck on Level 5 because of clear directions.
Took a bit of time to access the Chua Mia Tee Gallery but once inside the oils were impressive especially as they tied in with our national history. The part-time docent did a wonderful job of explaining the outstanding pieces, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gentleman, he helped several viewers with his insightful commentary.
Loved the mobile theatre cart in the other room, would help the kids imagine what it was like then.

Visited the National Gallery with the intention to see the exhibition by Sir Antony Gormley.

For pieces - two sculptures and two installations. Absolutely stunning as is all of Sir Antonys work. Dotted around the museum it encourages the casual visitor to explore all areas.

The National Gallery is a wonderful museum and has a great collection of art. It’s collection of South East Asian art is particularly impressive. Well worth a visit.

Here are the Gormley images, and includes me hovering above and behind a sculpture, but not touching. Art for all.
