We stayed at the hotel for six nights over Christmas 2017. The staff was very accommodating. We had two rooms on the sixth floor for our family of four. Both rooms were modern, spacious and up-to-date. The pool was comfortably heated and allowed for swimming on cool days. My wife and daughter had manicures at the hotel spa and were very happy with the result. The concierge spoke perfect english and was able to suggest some day tours. We ended up doing the Teleferico, Equator Line and Intinan Museum on one day and Cloud Forest, Mindo, Butterfly Garden and Yumbos Chocolate tour on another day. We also did a couple trips to the Old City. Getting access to the Club level is definitely worth the effort and/or expense. It gives you complementary Breakfast, box lunch and evening h'ordeuvres/drinks. I was very pleased with the variety! I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my family/friends. A special thanks to Belén for her assistance with our pre-trip guidance.

Transport - The car service offered by the hotel is contracted out to another company. They drove small suvs whereas the cabs are all cars. You can take comfort in the fact they have been theroughly vetted. Generally they charged double what a cab would cost on trips to the airport or around the city. You can negotiate inclusive prices for the day tours. Having the extra space and security was definitely worth it on those tours.

The hotel is clean and modern and the staff are friendly and always willing to help. It's near to restaurants and entertainment in La Mariscal, the La Jardin mail and a nice walk to the old town. Only negative was that housekeeping could do a better job dusting in the room.

The staff were OK, not the most knowledgeable or helpful. When our room was cleaned, something was always wrong, they did not replace coffee one day and clean coffee pot, next day they did not replace shampoo and conditioner. Not normal for a JW Marriott.

Room Tip: We had a view of entrance way, not recommended

In December 2017 we stayed for a total of 3 nights at the JW Marriott Quito Hotel. Our stay was part of a Celebrity Expedition Cruise to the Galapagos. Two nights prior to the cruise and one night after the cruise. This is an excellent hotel, quite modern, very well maintained with rooms that are large and quite comfortable. The buffet breakfasts that came with the room were very good, lots of choices and all freshly prepared. I would definitely stay at this hotel if I were in Quito. The only downside is the location of this hotel which is outside the central part of the old city – this would only matter if you wanted easy access to that part of Quito.

We stayed here in December before and after an excellent cruise with Silversea to the Galapagos. The hotel is of a good standard but not as high as other JW Marriotts in North America . The rooms are clean and spacious . We stayed in Executive rooms and the junior suite . The junior suite is excellent - spacious and worth the small additional cost . The executive lounge is excellent - good selection of food and snacks all day . The room service was fine though of variable quality - perhaps because our stay spanned Christmas . We had a Christmas Eve dinner in The Hacaenda restaurant which was good . The taxi service from the hotel is good but twice the price of a yellow cab - but safe and good if there is a party of 4 or More . The taxi driver trips from the hotel are good and much cheaper than an organised tour . This hotel is a great base in Quito to go on to the Galapagos or the Amazon and is used by many high end tour companies

Room Tip: Junior suite at high level is good and good value
