When I was planning my trip to Peru, most of the recomendation from friends and internet reviews sounded something like: "Don't waste your time in Lima... it's dangerous..Take your first flight out of Lima..." and so on. I knew ahead of time that I had no choice but to stay over night in Lima. Luckily I bumped into the Lima Walks website and realized immediatly that taking a Lima Walk tour will be the best way to spend my time there. And so it was. We took a three hour walking tour in the Centro area. Ronald is a very knowledgeable, genuine and pleasant person (You can already tell when communicating with him via e-mail). We had the privilage to ask many questions and he had very rich and interesting answers. Moreover, this tour was a great intruduction to our adventure Peru and gave us a better understanding of Peru's history, demography and culture.

Thanks Ronald!

LimaWalks offers what previously didn't exist: guided walks into those districts of Lima which are historically speaking the most interesting. The guide is an expat, very well educated on the history of Lima and knows pretty much every security guard, so that access to places is virtually guaranteed (something a visitor on his own will almost never manage).

A LimaWalk might take 2-3 hours and takes place on a relaxed pace. The amount of walking and information is tailored for each walk. The resulting experience is very pleasent and worthwhile. I have personally done 2 of the 10 walks and I have already signed up for a 3rd walk during January. I can very warmly recommend LimaWalks.
