Pros: what I really liked about this hostel was the pics of the rooms when booked online and the "town" feel. Very pretty decorated rooms (Peru designs) and outdoors. Location was perfect too. Just a few steps from plaza de armas main square. The front desk will hold your bags after you check out if you want to go see the ruins or eat.

Cons: wifi is Terrible!!! Very very slow. No breakfast included. Very cold shower water in the morning. We had to get up at 5am one day to take the train to Machu Picchu and taking a shower was miserable. It was freezing cold and the hot water would not come out. During our stay on the last day we ran out of toilet paper. When my cousin went to ask for more, their response was "only 1 roll per stay" UNBELIEVABLE!! How did they expect us to clean ourselves?
Beds were very uncomfortable. Also dirty.
They do not accept credit card at the end of your stay so you have to pay in cash . We thought this was an inconvenience as well.

Overall this hostel gets a poor rating. We would not stay here again nor recommend to our friends and family. There were other places to stay in the same area just as close to the main square that might be better

Check in was 2pm, but I arrived at Hostal Los Andenes around 5pm. I was extremely agitated that they had no record of my reservation. I showed them a print out of the reservation I made three months prior and proof that I even paid a deposit. Maybe they thought I was a no show and gave out my room? It didn't matter. The manager made arrangements for me and my wife to stay at neighboring hostal for the night and moved my luggage back to Los Andenes the next day. They also made amends for their mistake.

Good location. Mini market across the street. Right next to the road that takes you to the train to Machu Picchu.

We got bumped to this hostal because the other one they owned had problems with our room. Los Adenes was perfect, perfectly located between a couple of really good restaurants and right around the corner from the town square. Our room was nice, with hot water and clean. Nice garden and great value. We had absolutely no complaints.

Excellent hostel, good value for money. Good location close to plaza armas and ruins and walking distance from train station. Clean, large rooms. Very helpful staff. Beautiful enclosed patio/garden and also communal area inside. Would defibitely stay here again.

We stayed there two nights, and then one more because the place was really good.
The staff is nice, and kept our bags when we went to the Machu Picchu.
There is free tea and internet (3 computers) in the rest area. The hotel is well located, and really calm. Our room was clean, big, with a table and two chairs; the bathroom was spacious, and the shower hot.
Too bad they don't have breakfast.
