I can't explain how great my lamb ravioli meatballs were. The mix of flavor, texture, and color at Tandory is genius. If I had to choose a restaurant from all the restaurants in Montevideo, this would be it. Absolutely recommended!

This restaurant and chef has been leading Montevideo´s offer for quite some time. Food quality and arrangement (be ready for a lot of coriander), great wine selection. The place is not big and has from my point of view nice decor. Prices are on the high side for Montevideo and many customers are foreigners (every time you go there are several tables where English is the language).

If you are visiting Montevideo or have an opportunity to savor good meals and services, I would recommend this restaurant.

Decent ambiance, friendly staff, different varieties of freshly made breads with spicy and sweet dip which were excellent. The starter we tried was Samosa which is an Indian snack but they serve it with an Uruguayan twist, not very spicy, tasted nice. Main corse for us was paneer curry and mushroom Risotto. Paneer curry was pretty heavy with a lot of other elements like veggies and nuts etc in it. Curry tasted fine but the risotto was excellent. Desert was a Belgian chocolate cake with Orange moose which was mind boggling. Deserts had many more small elements which showed the kind of efforts put in.
All in all a pleasant experience. It's a fusion restaurant so people looking for a particular kind of cuisine (like Indian) this is not a place to be. Prices are higher than any other fine dining restaurants in Montevideo. A one time try.

Time and again I've read that Uruguayans shy away from spicy foods, and my own experiences seem to bear that out. So, if you like spicy as I do, Tandory will make you dance a happy dance! The bread opener is accompanied by both a soft cheese spread and some honest-to-heaven salsa that will wake up your taste buds. The empanada appetizer was notable for its strawberry glaze but was not otherwise exceptional. The shrimp curry however, was outstanding: a wonder of balanced spice and ingredients; possibly the best curry I've ever eaten. The deconstructed Martin Fierro dessert was very, very good and surprisingly light.

Do not miss this restaurant.

After spending 3 weeks in Argentina us group of 6 Indians fancied something spicier.
Went without booking and we're lucky to get a table.
What food.
Excellent cooking and flavours.
Better than most restaurants in London.
And London has some fabulous places.
Service good too and desserts platter can must.
