No English signage. Near St Sofia church. Fresh flowers, unsure if there all time or if visit was near anniversary.

The monument is very close to Alexander Nevski cathedral and to the Sveta Sofia church. The whole area makes you think of the stupidity of greed and war. More lightly, locals rub the lion`s leg, or try to caress the head.It seems that you are coming back to Sofia if you do so!

A peaceful place guarded by a huge lion statue. A place for reflection for all soldiers regardless of country of origin
