Owner description: The Monument to the Unknown Warrior with its eternal flame is situated between the churches Alexander Nevski Church and St. Sofia.
Reviewed 14 January 2018

The monument is a touching symbol for many Bulgarians, but for tourists in general it's unfortunately just "another" eternal flame and a statue of lion good enough to make a picture.

It can not be missed, as it's situated between Al-r Nevsky Cathedral and Sofia Church.

The monument is very close to Alexander Nevski cathedral and to the Sveta Sofia church. The whole area makes you think of the stupidity of greed and war. More lightly, locals rub the lion`s leg, or try to caress the head.It seems that you are coming back to Sofia if you do so!

A peaceful place guarded by a huge lion statue. A place for reflection for all soldiers regardless of country of origin
