We went here at night, and it was amazing. It is well lit, and the whole thing is outside. You can surely feel the spirit of Ukraine as you pursue though the WWII vehicles, weapons and carvings that lead up to the Motherland. It is a large walkway, and if you have children, there’s plenty of area for them to run around. If you have a stroller, it is easily accessible, but you will have to walk the stroller down a variety of stairs (each about 6-7 steps).

One can spend hours here for the entrance fee of 70 cents US. Many bemoan the lack of English signage but an English guide can be hired for $3.50USD. I didn't use a guide, human or audio($1.75USD) but still got a lot from my visit. The grounds have a large collection of WW2 Red Army equipment and many from the current Russian backed conflict in Eastern Ukraine. Classic Soviet-style statuary on the grounds honoring the heroes of WW2. The Ukrainians made it clear that "The Great Patriotic War" was the RUSSIAN war, not theirs! The proper name of the museum is "National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II".

I'm glad I went, but in terms of all the museums I've been to, this one wasn't much of a learning experience as 99% of everything is in Ukrainian - which is fine, of course, but then not very good for tourists, which they want. Admission is very cheap, so that's good. I would have felt very ripped off if the fee was high. It is a very well-kept and curated collection. I appreciated it, however I wasn't able to learn much.

In front of the museum are placed big socialistic statues. They are as usual so funney by their proportion. The museum is well done and at the main hall is car which is drilled in Dombas. The museum is not too big so it won't take that long. The only thing is that the signs are only in Ukrainian...
