Comfortable Room wonderful staff great food

My wife and I enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Hilton Princess Managua. Our stay started with a very late delayed flight into Managua. We prearranged an airport pickup. We arrived at 2 am and the hotel staff was very helpful. Easy checkin. The room was located on the 5th floor. We were a little concerned that our late arrival would not allow us to get enough sleep. We slept in till 10am the next morning. We were glad the hotel wasn’t noisy. Waking up at 10am meant we missed breakfast. No problem, we walked across the street to a grocery store and bought a few things for our stay. As Hilton Honors Gold status we were able to enjoy the complementary breakfast and 5pm happy our a few times during our stay. Food was fresh and excellent every time. The staff is very professional and friendly.
We enjoyed the restaurant one evening and the service and food was superb. The outside temperature was a hot 35 Celsius (95f) yet our top floor hotel room a/c worked well the entire stay. My wife speaks a little Spanish and I know very little Spanish, no problem. The staff was polite and communicated with us in Spanish and some English. It’s not a big hotel but that is what makes the stay feel so comfortable and welcoming. A few things travelers should know before staying here is there is no regular coffee in the rooms just decaf. We asked at front desk and were told only decaf. The shower pressure was low and to get hotel pool towels you have to ask the front desk. None of those things really took away from us enjoying our stay here. Overall this was a wonderful stay with no issues, pleasant memories and excellent food.
We definitely recommend staying here.

It is old fashioned hotel, it needs a renewal in the electric installation you have not enough electrical outlets near the bed.

Bathroom is old and the water clogs, AC is good at keeping it cold though uncomfortable because it hits one specific point of the room.

Internet speed is just good, there is no ironboard, this issue about having one complimentary bottle of water who thought about that in a humid and hot location.

Restaurant has few options for lunch and dinner, also breakfast buffet was the same thing everyday. Parking space and the access to the parking lot is not enough and clear to access.

Though front desk team are kind at their job.

Roughly a twenty-five minute transfer from Managua Airport the hotel is ideally placed to visit all of the sights of the capital.

The hotel itself is relatively low-rise with five accommodation floors. Our room was spacious with a king sized bed and enough room to practice your Salsa. A two piece bathroom with a separate sink and dressing area was a nice touch. Everything was very comfortable.

Downstairs the pool area was busy as we were there over Easter which highlighted the lack of outside space off of the formal bar.

At least one complementary bottle of water would have been appreciated on arrival especially when the temperature was 34°C.

The service was excellent and rum cocktails devine. Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel that is highly recommended.

I wish I could rate this hotel 0 star in fact. That wouldn’t be right to some of the employees there. This hotel has been a disaster since my family came here for vacation & to visit family. They have completely ignored our request to clean the room on multiple occasions. Even when I informed them I found a cockroach in the bathroom tub. The AC feels like it’s not functioning properly. Even when we called the maintenance worker, the room doesn’t feel cool. We had 2 rooms 503 & 514. All this happened within the first 3 days of our family vacation & still had 3 more days to go. The lights & the water seem to turn off randomly at times during our stay. It happened when I was taking a shower & another when my mom was using the bathroom. They had another moment when the lights went off again. Also when taking a shower the hot & cold water seem to come out randomly if both knobs were turned on it keep a combination of the temperatures. It took good amount of calling the front desk to make sure things would even work a regular standard hotel experience, let alone a the Hilton name. The one saving grace is not the front desk it surely isn’t, it’s the workers, the cleaning staff, the maintenance staff. They were friendlier & more attentive to our concerns. I will NOT be coming back to this hotel ever again. STAY AWAY !!!!! Did not BRING ANY VALUE TO MY FAMILY VACATION.

Like much of Managua, the Hilton is still trying to recover from what COVID did to the tourism industry. 4 out of 5 for Managua, would be a 3 out of 5 in most cities where you have more choices.
The bright spot is the service, from the front desk to restaurant staff to the doorman, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Got an upgrade to my room, which was huge and in good condition, with a decent view from the east side. Location is good, short walk to a number of restaurants and only about 20 minutes to the airport. Where it did not shine was the lack of some standard amenities. Coffee maker, but no coffee supplied (even when you asked the front desk, which is pretty bizarre since Nicaragua is a major coffee exporter); on site restaurant had limited hours and limited selection; lounge was closed; gift shop was closed; perhaps most bizarre was breakfast room service cards on the doors are available, but they don't do room service (I ordered and nothing ever showed - when I called down they told me to go to the restaurant - weird). Bottom line - felt like a hotel in the midst of COVID, not one 18 months post. I'm sure it will improve over time.

Room tip: Be aware of the limitations/services they no longer provide.

This hotel more or less does the job. My experience was not as negative as the more negative ones below, though I also wouldn't agree with the sentiment that it feels up to international Hilton standards. Everything is a little tired and worn to the point that all the contemporary Hilton-branded materials in the room seem a little jarring compared to the surroundings. Also wouldn't recommend the taxi services from the hotel which are massively over-priced. That said, I did enjoy the gym (mind you, only one treadmill was working) and the restaurant was pretty decent. In context, it's a reasonable option in Managua.
