I Will Always Stay Here in Managua

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Nov 2023
Honestly, there are not such great accommodation options in Managua, and I'm so grateful to have found El Almendro. I will always stay here in Managua and I recommend that you do too! I have stayed here twice in 2023. The first time I was with my fiancee, and the second time when we returned for our Oct. wedding in Granada. We spent a few nights at this hotel with my parents before the wedding. Spacious rooms, good security, good AC, hot water showers, incredibly friendly staff, nice pool with sitting areas around, great breakfast made-to-order, good location, and the place feels very local. I like supporting smaller locally-owned and operated places, instead of hotel chains owned by foreign billionaires. Some of the rooms have kitchenettes and couches.
It is across the street from a great restaurant where we ate a few times, Metro De Asado, with large portions of really delicious food, as well as a block away from a book/art/school supply store (Libreria Hispamer) and really nice cafe/restaurant that serves delicious food and drinks, called El Molino Coffee Shop. There are also local Nica food stands within walking distance so that you can experience more local food. We had a rental car the second time and could securely park it inside the hotel grounds. The first time we didn't have a car, and found it to be a convenient location, very close to a main bus stop at "La Uca" (Universidad Centroamericana).
Date of stay: October 2023
Room Tip: Eat at the Restaurante Metro De Asados literally 20 second walk from the hotel. Also one block...

Warm and helpful staff, good breakfast (toast, gallo pinto, scrambled eggs with or without ham, fried egg, fruit plate, coffee and juice), great Wi-Fi, central and safe location, clean rooms and hotel facilities, small pool for cooling. Walking distance to the shopping center in 5min. The hotel complex is equipped with

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and also the end of our trip to Nicaragua. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was excellent but simple. The staff also helped us set up a tour and helped us order food in when we didn't want to go out for the evening. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

I was there during semana santa (spring break). The hotel gives you a basic room and for the price you pay. They can do a better job with cleaning the rooms better. They offer free breakfast. The staff treat just like any person in the street not as a customer, I feel the they can do a better job in customer service and clean the rooms better. The moment, I got this hotel, I knew what, I was going to get. Overall, it is what I expected.

Einer and Evelyn were wonderful hosts. They missed none of our needs and volunteered ideas and suggestions that embellished our Nica welcome. From porting our luggage to our lovely room, ordering exceptional cab service to recommending the perfect dining spot.
WiFi was fast and strong
The gardens were lush and tasteful, the pool sparkling clean and the included patio breakfast spot on .

Room tip: All rooms are strategically located for amenity access and quietness.

Stayed here almost a week during a business trip to Managua. The hotel is very well located, near a mall. Staff are very nice, always smiling (most of them). Rooms are very quiet, with AC and fans. It's very safe, with people controlling access all the time in an efficient way. Breakfast is not the huge buffet of brand hotels, but it is still good, and the ladies there are always keen on preparing eggs and gallopinto (rice and beans) for you.
I strongly recommend this hotel, with an excellent price.
