When I arrived I was told I was guest of the day! The upgraded to a really nice suite facing the water. The only downside was it's not straight forward to find the third building. The staff were super friendly and the food was pretty good. Hats off to the charm of the place.

The Historic Inns of Annapolis have more than one building. You check in at Calvert House right on State Circle. We happened to be given a room in Calvert House itself. The rooms were spacious, well appointed, with fridges and lovely furnishings. They have complimentary coffee, tea, etc, available in the lobby in the morning starting at 7. Valet parking with in/out privileges is available. You are only a couple of blocks from Main Street with all its restaurants, ice cream stores and tourist shops but in a quieter section of Annapolis in front of the State House. Be aware that some rooms at Calvert House face the street or gardens, some face an inner atrium. If there is an evening event at Calvert House and your room faces in, you may be disturbed by music, partying, cleanup crews, etc.

Great service. Fair prices. Great location. Would return again. We only stayed one night but nothing negative to report. Staff was accommodating. Lawrence is great and helped us out a few times. Don't have anything bad to say!

We stayed in the Robert Johnson House for a class reunion being held at the Naval Academy. The room was well-appointed with beautiful furnishings and decor. However, the AC was not working properly and every time he came on it sounded like a mach truck running through the room. The management was responsive to our call the next morning, but they were unable to get it fixed in a timely manner. To give them some credit they did unclog the drain in the tub(another problem). There answer was for us to turn off the AC. They did comp us our parking fee for the "inconvenience." I was happy to go home to get a good nights sleep.

After returning from a cruise that departed from Baltimore, my family decided to stay a couple of extra days to visit Annapolis. As always TripAdvisor provides the best advice for traveling and based on the recommendations we chose the Historic Inns of Annapolis. We had two rooms in the Calvert House. Each room was stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries and very clean. The location can't be beat. The hotel is within walking distance of the state capitol, the Naval Academy, and the bustling dockyard. We heartily enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

One bit of advice for first time visitors to Annapolis- the streets are very narrow and parking is limited. Thankfully the hotel has valet parking and you can walk everywhere. However, I would recommend taking a smaller vehicle and definitely no RVs. We witnessed a RV trying to maneuver the small streets for over an hour. They and several cars parked on the street didn't make it unscathed.
