The expectations were quite high, since we booked a premium suite for a week at Marvie also after having read the reviews on Booking and TripAdvisor (can thousands of people be wrong? Yes, they can!).
he hotel presented itself as a worn-out three star hotel, with rooms that had too many important flaws to deserve the 200 plus Euro per night that we have been spending. Stained carpets, superficial cleaning, used towels left under the sink, a flooded Jacuzzi room when we first set foot on the room (how good was the room cleaned when room service has not noticed it), bathroom doors that opened by themselves, a TV set with 30 German channels out of 40, no heating in the bathroom nor in the room, damaged furniture, and so forth. In short, not very much to like here.
Also the incredibly kind staff that was mentioned in the other reviews did not work in the week we were staying at Marvie, with the exception of the two persons that were both extremely kind as well as professional. Last but not least, the breakfast. Incredibly poor around Christmas with a slow service, and only the arrival of two busses of Austrians influenced the choice and the quality of the food positively
Free parking and car charge were welcome, but did not compensate for the lousy price-quality proposition that Marvie represents. We will not come back, ever. Fortunately, there are so many hotels in Split that are either cheaper or better, but either way more value for money.

It was a pleasure to organize a conference in the Marvie hotel, Split Croatia.

Location:
Great! A beach at the end the street.

Before the conference:
The communication flow before the conference was fast and efficient. Very helpful hotel manager. He even recommended an event agency that helped us organize a ship trip for the conference participants.

Conference room:
The conference room on the ground floor with an entrance from the street, not from the hotel.

Staff:
The staff was very helpful. My personal advise: as it happened already in a number of other hotels the weekend staff members were not properly informed about all our plans, even though it has been discussed in writing in detail / on the phone prior to the event. So if you need something special, such as a part of the restaurant designated for your group only etc, make sure you address it with the manager.
Nevertheless, lack of information was compensated with a swift response of the staff on duty and a solution was found quickly.

Special highlight:
Food! Amazing food, helpful restaurant staff, excellent cooks! Tasty and accomodating all the needs: meat, pescarian, vegetarian and vegan. Vegan, non-gluten, dairy free cakes were a dream!

Accomodation:
Rooms were clean and the conference participants very satisfied with the accomodation.

Disappointing- plastic tables and chairs in breakfast room with paper placemats headed
Morning beautiful with reference to both aesthetic clinic and spa!
Tables slow to be cleared. Total self service at breakfast. Pool very cold and small as was an almost non existent bar in corner. Outside terrace overlooked road. No relaxing lounge/bar area. Walk into town nearer 25 mins - not brilliant walk, some restaurants close to hotel. Not ideal at all for seven night stay. Atmosphere in hotel souless. We had lovely view from our room overlooking sea- far better than overlooking hospital!! Towels fairly thin and carpet stained in places.

Hotel was not within our remit ok for overnight or business stay. NOT a holiday hotel for week.
The hotels saving grace was Irena on Reception a great asset to the hotel. Could not recommend to friends and family.

We stayed at the Marvie Hotel on a JET2 package holiday, and it was perfect! It was located near enough to walk to the Old Town but far away enough to be away from the hustle & bustle. There were a few different walks into the Old Town but the one around the coast was the best. We had breakfast every morning sat outside on the patio, breakfast was varied and tasty although it was exactly the same every day, a daily special would have been good. The rooftop pool area was amazing, we loved it up there, such stunning views. The hotel room had a fabulous balcony with the same wonderful views, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The weather was superb whilst we were there, so we didn't venture into the indoor spa area. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

Room tip: It has to be on the front with a balcony! Amazing views!

Myself, Husband and Daughter have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Marvie Hotel.
On arrival at this hotel we were warmly greeted by a lovely receptionist called Irena, check in was easy and one of our rooms was ready early for us,y daughter had received a room upgrade (suite with balcony and sea view) on arrival at the room our excitement was soon diminished! The light coloured carpet was full of stains as was the chairs in the room, the balcony floor had not been cleaned and the room was in need of a deep clean! Unfortunately this was also the case in our room, very disappointing and certainly not 4* standard, the towels were thin, worn and small. The positives were the size of the rooms, lots of storage and comfy beds with nice white bedding and spectacular views of the sea.
Breakfast is ok, no waiter service and unlabelled food, plates were never cleared and staff didn't look like they wanted to be there which is a shame as usually this can make a big difference to your holiday.
The rooftop pool area was well laid out with plenty of beds and chairs but unfortunately the pool was freezing! There was a bar in the corner but again nobody manning it, such a under utilised facility.
The location of the hotel is great just a few minutes walk to the sea front with lots of bars and restaurants along the way, about a 25 minute walk into the old town with lovely views along the way or a walk along the road adjacent to the hotel also with bars and restaurants along the way. We also used an uber into the old town several times which cost around €5.
We visited Brac island using the ferry, which is a 50 minute crossing costing €4 each way, well worth the visit. Split old town is very picturesque and plenty to do and see and the restaurants are reasonably priced.
Overall Split is wonderful however we were very disappointed with this overpriced hotel. The one asset is Irena who is wonderful.
