Was sceptical about staying here with a group of 50/60 year old friends...dont know what the bad reviews are about. This hotel is perfect for our holiday and has everything we need. Breakfast is fine, had worse. Rooms immaculate, beds comfortable and clean. Excellent location, polite staff. Would stay here again without hesitation

This is a quite old hotel located near to the old city in Split. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. the hotel opens up onto a square with quaint eateries and an ocean view. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Ideal location but given the rooms available and their prices in Split this is way too pricey. Though if you would like to see a hotel that existed in the Eastern Block then an adventure you should undertake. The rooms had an interesting A/C arrangement, as long as the the exhaust was going out the window and it wasnt too hot then another experience to be had. The check in counter was obviously uncomfortably warm for the people there as there was a large fan pointed at the chair behind reception from the foyer - the lady who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful - not so the chap later on in the day - the French hotel guest got short shift when asking for the name and contact numbers of the hotel - he was passed a map of the town and that was that.

Rooms and clean and tidy. The front desk staff lack interpersonal skills but get the job done. The housekeeping staff are friendly. Breakfast is very average. The location is excellent with everything within walking distance. Would stay here again.

Very good location by the promenade and old town if you don't mind the noise. There's a church next to the hotel and I think their bell toller is crazy. The church bells rang at random like 7 am, 8:25 am or sometimes at 8:15 pm :D
Also consider, that during the summer there are a lot of bars and restaurants close by and open for a long time and there are a lot of people, so that part of the city is very very noisy.
About the hotel - sure it could use some renovating and upgrading but on the other side it's an old building and has some old time charm. We stayed in a triple room and it was very spacious with high ceilings and big enough closet. Air conditioner was a bit too noisy.
Hotel has its own big terrace which opens to the square and is nice for just sitting and relaxing.
Hair dryer did its job and in the bathroom there was soap and two-in-one shampoo and shower gel.
Breakfast wasn't anything amazing but it wasn't bad either. Had some fruits, cereal, yoghurt, bread and toaster, local ham and cheese. Also omelette (I didn't personally like it because it was too sweet for my taste), baked bacon and boiled sausages were also offered. I would say that the breakfast was rather average. But I loved that you can eat it outside, on the terrace.
