This place is located very central in Split, close to one of the gates in the wall. We got a large and clean room with a very nice view of the harbour and the seafront. It gives you short walking distances to the old town, to the bus station and to the ferries.

Fab location in centre of split and friendly staff. No noise from bars and restaurants that someone had indicated on a previous review. however I will say the property needs a make over in the curtain department needs blackouts installed and more of a worry no smoke detectors anywhere especially as some rooms have kitchenette. Extremely noisy in mornings from the type of flooring from rooms above around 6am !.

For a short/quick visit of the Old City of Split, perfect place. The B&B is within an old building squeezed in between others, interesting renovations to fit all the basics, clean, everything in working order. Friendly and helpful staff.

The title says it all. The location could not be better. You are slap bang in the middle of town - steps away from the promenade and even fewer steps away from the old town. The hotel is actually within the walls of Diocletian's palace. No trudging half a mile back to your hotel because you've forgotten something. Despite the fact that your room probably overlooks a main square and it is noisy in the evening, when you shut your double-glazed window any noise will not stop you sleeping.
The staff were friendly and the hotel is clean.

Now for the negatives. We had an extremely small bathroom. Suffice to say the bath towels were laid out on the beds as there was not even space for them in the bathroom. We cannot comment on other rooms.
There are only 6 tables for breakfast. This is the only hotel we have ever stayed in where you never see any staff in the breakfast room. Plates and dishes left by previous diners have to be shoved to one side by the next occupants. On our last morning the breakfast room appeared busier than the previous 3 days and the food was starting to run out. If the hotel addressed this issue it would benefit everybody enormously.
Despite the 2 negatives we would probably stay again because they did not impact on us unduly.

This is a lovely hotel which is immaculately clean, perfectly located in the old town with stunning views. The only downside was we couldn't stay longer as it was a one night stopover. I highly recommend B&B Kastel 1700.
