The electricity went off on a hot 42 degree celcius afternoon. The hotel staff assured us that the problem will be fixed and that we will have a good night sleep in the evening, and thank goodness they did.
We have done pre-trip research on Myanmar and understood that the electricity problem is common throughout the country, even with 5-star hotels. This is particularly bad during dry season when the hydropower is weak due to low water level.
The hotel rooms are well-equipped and spacious at 3-star standard. There are 3 huge mirrors in my room, which I am very happy with. In contrary to some negative reviews, I found the room very clean and I have not encountered any creepy crawlie during my stay. Shower was good with hot water. There is no water pressure problem as it is only a double-storey hotel, compared to those in high-rise building.
Overall, the hotel staffs are helpful and responsive to our queries and complaints (electricity problem). It is good value for money. Just need to bear in mind that we do not expect 5-star quality when we are only checking in to a 3-star hotel.More
