Location is wonderful at the end of town and on the river. Front desk staff could not be nicer and more helpful. Laundry is done in a day. Rooms have all the nice amenities like bathrobes, mini-fridge with water, tea and coffee in the room. Nice breakfast included that is across the street.

Loved this hotel. It has a great location on the Mekong - you can watch the river activity from your terrace.
The rooms are well sized - each a little different because of the property shape. Linens and attention to all details are very well done. Everything you need has been thought of. The owner is on-site and very nice - even hosts a cocktail hour once a week so you can meet other guests.
The restaurant is on the river - incredible location and excellent food. The included breakfast is served there and is also excellent.
Don't worry when you see how close your room may be to the road - the town closes down very early and noise was not an issue.
An excellent choice in Luang Prabang.

Hotel was in a good location for my first time to Luang Prabang. Set on a quiet street on the river about a 15 minute walk to the main drag. The hotel comes with breakfast and has a pool offsite via the bamboo bridge - a fun little trek. Breakfast was provided every morning in which you can order a western or Lao option. Continental items were also provided for lighter eaters. The yogurts (locally made and included flavors such as kiwi and mango) and croissants were particularly good and both seemed quite fresh. The owner, Urban, came around on multiple occasions to greet guests and introduce himself which is a very thoughtful touch. All service in the hotel was warm and positive. No service issues at all. While I would recommend the hotel wholeheartedly due to the staff and location a knocked a star for a few small reasons. 1. I found it a little weird the bathroom had a urinal it in (again just being nit picky). 2. Hot water ran out (this may be commonplace in Laos, no idea as it was my first time). 3. The pool was cold despite it being advertised as heated in the winter months (we were there in Jan). Again, I would recommend the hotel just advising of a few small quirks. I had a wonderful time and hope to return to Luang Prabang again one day as it is a beautiful city.

Hot water: We apologize sincerely, there has been a problem with the hot water while you were here. We fixed the problem now. 3. Pool temperature: Unfortunately, there have been some delays by our contractor for the heating pump of our pool. Therefore, for the time being, we can not offer the advertised 32°c. As an apology, we offer a complimentary hot beverage to the visitors of our Spa and work hard to fix the problem as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

First time in Luang Prabang and had quite high expectations about the town. We were recommended Mekhong Riverview Hotel and we were not disappointed.
Nice and friendly staff. Warm welcome and excellent appointed rooms with lots of small details. Being a resort owner myself I expect a lot and there it was :-)

Agree with all the comments about good location, friendly staff/owner and authentic atmosphere. During our stay the hot water was non-existent in the morning. Better in the mid-afternoon. Even then, you have to wait about five minutes, letting the water run (wasting it) until it's hot. So, your experience and rating of the accommodations will depend on whether you consider hot water to be a luxury or not.

Also, thank you for your feedback about the hot water. We were not aware of that problem as there were no complaints about that recently. If our guests let us know when there are problems in the room, we give our best to fix them immediately. Apparently you did not let us know during your stay that there was something wrong with the water. Of course we consider hot water as essential, especially in the cold months, which is now. So it is no question that we will take care of this right away and we would like to apologize to you that it did not work perfectly in your room.
