Have visited Bombay by the Bay twice now and had a pleasant experience both times. We sat inside once and outside on the terrace area the other time, inside the restaurant is pleasant and the terrace is an airy space overlooking the walk. Service was attentive, the first visit we did have to ask twice for our drinks but the second time were served in a timely fashion. The tomato soup was good, and the poppadom were interesting- not your average ones. More like long skinny straws.
The food is nothing spectacular but it is good, we ordered the butter chicken and paneer makhani which were both satisfying and served in large portions, although sweet as others have mentioned. The rice sides are expensive, most are around 30 dhs, which is a bit high but the portion is enormous and enough for at least four people so if you go with a group that's good value there I suppose. (Soda is also rather expensive- 12 dhs for a small can of Pepsi)
Overall, it's worth a try especially if you're out for a stroll on the walk. It's been fairly quiet both times so definitely worth it if you're looking for a quiet dinner over in JBR. It's worth noting that my boyfriend was here a few years ago when in Dubai on a tourist holiday and he said the restaurant has been renovated since then. Apparently it used to seem rather too fancy for what it is, which is really a small, casual independent restaurant.

This restaurant is one of the many choices you can find on the Jumeriah walkway.
We visited this place for dinner, and it was not at all crowded hence all the service was dedicated to us.We chose to sit outside, in the turquoise and white color gazebo type seating arrangement, which was quite pleasant to see.
Menu was satisfyingly exhaustive , being vegetarian we ordered Veges ,dal and breads. The food tasted fresh and yummy, in all it was a delight to eat good vegetarian Indian food .

Can definitely recommend for a vegetarian meal!!

Sat in a booth overlooking the street though couldn't see down below directly as balcony slightly set back so generally watched the passing fancy cars. I had chicken tikka masala and my wife had chicken madani and we shared a portion of plain rice and some butter naan. All of this was good, only slight disappointment was the poppadoms that you had to but as a portion of three and they seemed like the ones you get in a packet in tescos rather then freshly made ones.

Service was good throughout, didn't rush us despite people waiting to get a table on the balcony area.

In this area there are a lot of food chains and uninspiring resturants, however we were delighted to come across this place, we were shown to a table on the balcony, this is above the street and you can watch the world go by and look out to sea (ignoring the standard Dubai building works). The decor is cool and the staff attentive, making some helpful sugestions whilst we ordered.
We loved the food, it was well cooked and very tasty. Dishes we liked were the Black Pepper chicken, goan fish curry and the tawa ghosht.
Given the location, they do not serve alchohol, so unfotunately you will not get your Cobra or Kingfisher here, but very good regardless.

We should have known not to dine here after the surly hostess outside rolled her eyes as we browsed the menu and took us up to the restaurant in the service elevator which was like a sauna. We were informed before we even went up that we would not get a window seat, but were keen for curry so went in. Fortunately there was a table in the air-conditioned area at the front, as the main aprt of the restaurant appears not to have a/c. The service was slow; we waited ages for our drinks. The grade of chicken used was very poor, and the lighting dim so along with the fact that it was cold, it was difficult to tell if the meat was cooked, or just a darker part of the chicken. The lamb saag was unlike anything we had ever tased before and had clearly been standing around as it had a skin on the top. The only reedeming factor is that when they asked at the end if everything had been ok, and we told them our opinion, they apologised and offered us free desert. We just weren't hungry any more!
