There in no other word to describe Angkor Wat other than "unbelieveable"' This complex was built in the 12th century and lies on a 160 acre site inside a national park. Cambodia is somewhat difficult to reach but the reward after arriving is well worth the time, effort and expense. Get started early to avoid the heat. Heat / humidity is a factor, so make sure to bring plenty of water. This is a 'must" for anyone's "bucket list".

While in Siem Reap this temple is a must-see. Worth every penny to explore the grounds, which the Khmer are doing all they can to restore and preserve. But be prepared for the heat - bring water!

We booked a sunrise tour. We were not able to see the sunrise because it was cloudy/ raining but the experience was still mesmerizing. Waking up early helped us beat the crowds and having a guided tour made for a much learning experience. It is amazing how Khmer were able to build such an amazing Temple. Worth a visit during anyone’s lifetime.

My wife and I topped off a three week tour of Vietnam and Cambodia with a visit to Anghor Wat. We were not disappointed, this is a massive site and it is hard to comprehend how it was hidden for so long. A guide is a must if you wish to see the main sites and navigating the complex. I recommend Mr Kim (angkorfriendlykim@gmail.com) he provide an in-depth history and an informative tour along with taking some fantastic photographs. This place is a must see. Wear a hat or carry an umbrella and take extra bottles of water. We walked 8 km on the on day tour. Enjoy

Absolutely worth a trip to Cambodia even if you do not see anything else (but of course you will). The footprint and grounds (including moats) is impressive as well as the efforts to preserve and maintain structures. It would take many years to restore all of it, so you are guaranteed a fresh look anytime you come back.
