. A smaller version of Angkor Wat, it is still an amazing example of Khmer construction, dating from the 12th century.Definitely a place to visit and it is inside the National Park.

The Bayon Temple is one of the more famous, popular and beautiful of the structures in the Angkor Wat Archaeological Park. It is sometimes called Jayavarman's Temple, in honour of the Khmer king .There are over 200 faces of Bayon , a temple in Angkor Thom and each of them is unique in its own way as they stare at you from every corner.

I visited this place on my trip to Cambodia especially the Angkor Wat temple Complex Seim Reap with my wife, both 66 years on 12-03-2018.It is a sunny day so we feel hot at 11am also. The outer walls of the Bayon Temple feature stunning bas relief style sculptures which tell the history of Bayon. You need a guide to explain it to you so that you can really appreciate the story. Within the Temple complex there are a number of high pillars with each of them featuring a happy smiling face, some presented from a side angle view, all made of stone. They present great photo opportunities. Quite a wonderful sculpture design and so imaginative. This temple is hugely attractive but isn't in as well preserved a state as Angkor Wat or Thom. Our guide also with us and help us for moving on stairs, which are not good enough to climb for senior citizens.
Thanks to our guide Mr.NY Danith for giving information and support and thanks to our cab driver Mr.Huy to give cold towels and chilled water while returning from any place after every visit.

To see a massive temple with many sculptured massive heads and faces pointing in different directions built hundreds of years ago is certainly breathtaking. Forming part of the massive temple complex that is "Angkor Wat" it is a "must see" when in Cambodia

This Temple has mainly been left to the jungle which makes it less touristy than many of the other ancient buildings. Trees grow over, round and through the Temple.
