Except for the price a little bit too expensive (same price as a double room with bathroom in other hotel around but for a bed in dorm) this hostel is really a nice place to stay.

The staff are nice and helpfull, the pool is great, the 2 USD breakfast buffet is really good quality for such a price (pancakes, bread, lots of fruits,..).

There is always a lot of people so you can meet others really easily and share a tuk tuk for angkor or else;).

The dorms are big, clean (cleaned everyday) and the safe are also big enough to put the entire backpack which make you feel safe.

On the « bad » points :
- sadly my bed hadn't any private light (the others had) so i had no choice than sleeping when the others wanted to.
- In the morning the safe are quite noisy (which can be a problem when others wake a 5 to go see the temples..).
- the prices where different for everybody : My friends paid 4 USD the first night and bargain to pay 6 USD for other nights (even if they stayed less than one week) when I paid 8 USD the first night and 7 USD for the 7 others days (the price is supposed to be cheaper if you stay longer). Some told me that the 4 USD price for the first night was a special offer for people who hasn't booked but i didn't book before and stayed more than one week...

But still, i liked the place and the people I met there so I still recommand it !

The staff was great. Breakfast comes with a private room. Pancakes, toast, jam and fruit with tea or coffee. One caveat right next door a metal fabrication business is in operation. Starting at 7am you hear ear splitting sawing & pounding all day. Next door to this business is an open style movie/coffee house that blares Cambodian Cinema & TV. The combination is not relaxing however if you are gone from dawn to dusk it doesn't matter.

I was doing volunteer work with the schools and this hostel gave me the best deal on a private room that was cleaned EVERY day. The staff was great and there was always something to do or someone to hang out with. The only bad part was not getting wireless in the rooms, however I am told they are working on it and there is free wifi everywhere else (along with 2 communal computers). I loved this place.

Room Tip: Let them know if your doing volunteer work.

At the start of April The Siem Reap Hostel installed new routers and we now have free wi-fi access in all rooms and areas of the hostel. The network is fibre optic, with a router on every floor and 2mbps download speeds.

I have been to many hostels in my time, some were great but nothing compared to the siem reap hostel. they have everything! free internet, bar, pool, restaurant, bike hire, ultimate movie collection, pool table, massages and even FREE salsa dance classes! the staff are all amazingly friendly and are willing to help you with anytihng and think outside the box if needed! i would stay here above any hotel, hostel or motel in the world, no matter the price, and its lucky that the prices are very reasonable. i would recommend this to anyone travelling through, back packing, vacation, to people of all ages!

We were picked up at the bus station (pick-up included in the room rate) by one of the recommended tuktuk drivers of the hostel. This was one of the reasons I picked the hotel aside from the pool. We also hired the same driver to take us to the temples the next day. The pool was cute, the restaurant was casual and the facilities were great. There was a pool table, sofas, beds at the balcony and other services i didn't get to try - yoga, tv/dvd room and hammocks. The location was quiet but still near the market which is still walking distance. Just take care when walking at night since the road is not that well-lit.

We stayed in the dorm room and everything was clean and organized. You pay $0.5 to borrow a towel but the linens are included in the room rate. There's a locker under the bunk bed so better bring a padlock for safe-keeping. At that time, no towels were available which was the only disappointing thing. But the other services such as the recommended tuktuk drivers and published rates are a great plus! The lonely planet books, public computers, wifi and great food were lovely additions. Breakfast for $2 (for dormers but free for private rooms) was also very nice - small pancakes, instant coffee, fruits, cereals and bread.
