We stay here for 2 nights, while we were traveling through the "mission route". In internet shows many facilities like a big pool, sauna and restaurant. once we get there we realized that the pool was green, the sauna was not working and the restaurant was the only thing we were able to try (very good after all!). Also take a look into the curtains before go to sleep, I've found 2 spider (the only dangerous spider here in Chile). Not a bad place, but need to improve, the rooms are nice, and probably with the pool working we should have enjoyed our stay much more!

Room Tip: There are rooms right next to the pool, hope it's working!

What a horrid place.....green pool, sun umbrellas falling to pieces, no hot water and electricity for 2 hours only. Supper choice 2 items only, no starter and dessert was orange jelly and cream! Room was dark and tired.....just ghastly. Don't let your travel agent persuade you to stay here.

Location: Codpa Valley is off of the beaten track, so if you get here you must be at least a little adventurous. The Codpa Valley is an oasis in a dessert and the valley lodge is the only hotel of this standard in what is really a small village by UK standards. We noted that a hostel type place was advertising rooms. The hotel is situated at one end of the lush green valley.
Rooms: There are about 18 chalet type rooms situated around a small pool with nice green areas. All have porches on which to relax. The water was hot, the rooms clean and the beds comfortable. Electricity is only available to your room for a maximum of two hours a day from about 8pm to 10 pm but this can vary. Expect to have an early night. There is a sauna but it is hard to imagine anyone using it! There is WiFi in the communal / dining area.
Staff / Service: The staff are helpful and you can get a cold beer or a bottle of wine. They offer simple dinner which is reasonably priced by tourist standards. There is a place to eat locally but you'll need Spanish and it doesn't exactly advertise. The menu is dictated by the schedule off the delivery lorry.
Value: It is average for hotel prices in Chile and you really don't have much choice if you're here.
A place for convenience where you get a comfortable bed and a hot shower before you press on to explore this amazingly beautiful and surprising area that is largely devoid of tourists.

It takes until the last corner before you see there's indeed a green valley within the stone dessert we travelled through for ours. The Codpa Valley Lodge really was an oasis. There's nothing to do (however, there's a swimming pool) and we loved it(!) as an inbetween stop on our tour towards Putre. We just sat on the terrace of our comfortable room and relaxed, while the friendly family who runs this place prepared us simple but tasty meals. Be aware: no cards accepted.

We (5 PAX) stayed there in the middle of nowhere in order to have some rest and enjoy the peaceful oasis in our way back to Arica and then Santiago.
Originally we planned to stay 3 nights, but due to the height in Putre, we had to shorten our trip.
We arrived to the place very late evening, people were not welcoming at all. We were allocated two rooms and not even offered a flashlight! We knew beforehand this was an "ecological" hotel and that light only was available three hours for day...
One of our children went to the toilet, flushed the water and it started to overflow the bathroom. I went immediately for help and they looked at me surprised!! How on earth could that be possible! The toilet was in perfect condition!
Once a woman arrived to check told me we did not "flush" in the correct way!!! I am still wondering since that is not rocking science, isn´t it?
Next day the other room was stinking from the toilet... the "ecological" system was not working properly! We completely did not use that toilet and risk to open each time to top and flush it manually (only solution, since next days they would be fully booked and there was not possible extra rooms).
Next day after having breakfast, very humble, by the way, we went around to have a look.
For sure in Chile is winter, but after being walking around the site under a nice 20-degree temperature the swimming pool looked appealing for our children....but it was green and looked dirty (no way like the promotional photos). Therefore, I asked the administrator (on the phone) if it would be possible to use the hot tab, once again not so friendly, told us we had to book that at least 3 weeks in advance because it took "4 days" to heat the water!!
That evening we came around 6 pm and to our surprised very loud "metal rock" music was heard everywhere! And the light properly working all around.... There was a group of adult guys getting ready the hot tabs, because next day would be fully booked due to an company event. Obviously next day we did not want to stay any longer over there. We felt very disappointed and ripped off. Rooms were outdated, painting needing some refreshment, better breakfast quality (not bringing everything only from Lider Supermarket).
We expected a high quality environment friendly oasis in the middle of the desert, but it seems that was the original ethos, however times changed and budget is not enough to keep it at good level.
By the way, Andrea, the reservation agent in Santiago did a wonderful job. She gave great tips for an hotel in Putre, always in a friendly manner!
