“Huge square in the center of the city”

Nanchang Bayi Square
Reviewed 7 June 2015

This is also the same as the August 1st Nanchang Uprising Monument. It is the second largest square in China, after Tiananmen.

This was one of the first places i visited when I first got to Nanchang. I was actually at the walmart opposite when I noticed all the kites in the sky. Crossing the road and spending time with the locals at the square was very heart warming to see kids with their parents flying kites and playing. The Bayi square gives off a very family community loving feeling and the monuments that are located within the square tell off a story of the wars and struggles that the people of Nanchang had to face.

The Long March to overthrow the corrupt imperial government began here... There's some great stone carving and a very grand outlook from the central pedestal.

Good place to visit as it is located near the city lake and the main shopping area. You can also go there to fly your kite :)

81square is where u can get a Starbucks. I think it might be the only Starbucks around this area. Sightseeing is quite boring although it's a histrial landmark of Chinese revolution. It's actually just a big square with many shopping mall around it.
