Big beautiful hotel is conveniently located in the city center, near the central square, shops, cafes. Nice big room, nice interior in the restaurant and hotel lobby. The hotel has a billiards, bowling, swimming pool, gym, shops. I was in this hotel in 2011. I liked it. Perhaps in three years something has changed for the worse.

This is the best hotel, the pool is clean and the people are nice. The gym is big and has a lot of play areas for kids. The rooms are nicely designed. The spa was great and they had great restaurants. There was a park near by and many more.

Room Tip: I have been in this hotel a couple of times. I liked the rooms 1506 and 1505 on the 15th floor

This is the typical 2-3 star china hotel that hallucinates itself as being 5 star. The lobby is large and gaudy, and the service blah. They "upgraded" me to a larger room and it's just large and ugly , rather than small and ugly. There's the typical bathtub that you try to shower in, and all the amenities are not worth mentioning. Or using. The buffet breakfast is housed in a large area with sarafi and United Nations-like decor. Besides being gaudy in decor, the food in general was inedible. I had a few strands of the noodles and a bite of the ham and that was all i could take in. The internet connection is spotty and slow so be prepared with a lot of frustration while surfing. Luckily i only stayed 1 night so my pain was limited. If for financial or other reasons you don't want to stay in the better hotels, then set your expectations as this is definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel, despite what others may say

I stayed in the standard room which was a little small. Typical for a hotel room in Europe. It also had a pay to play foot massage machine which blocked the desk, but I unplugged it and moved it into the corner. It did have showtime on the TV so when you need to relax and watch some English TV, you could. It also had an electric toilet seat in the bathroom which also was a little cramped. I also found that squirting water is not an effective way to clean those unmentionable body parts. Breakfast was not very impressive. The hotel staff was very accommodating and the hotel had a good location in the downtown part of Dalian. I had a bus company try to convince us to switch hotels by saying that this hotel was located in the mountains, but that was a lie. DO NOT USE THE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE LOCATED BY THE LUGGAGE CAROUSELS AT THE DALIAN AIRPORT, OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED 2 TO 3X THE TAXI FARE TO YOUR HOTEL. I would stay here again but maybe upgrade to a larger room.

Room Tip: In China always ask for a nonsmoking room or your room may reek of cigarette smoke.

My Standard Room was clean and the staff were nice to deal with. Even spoke some English! A little more attention to housekeeping the room would make it the 5-star hotel it says it is....like the bad smells in the toilet, vacuuming and cleaning the carpets, little touches like that that separate the average from the great hotels.
